Great location, but the hotel is in need of renovation. It is ideally situated within walking distance of the High Street, local attractions, and walking trails. Unfortunately, the hotel looks rather tired, with worn carpets, stains on the carpet in the room, and badly overdue exterior paintwork. The breakfast was a plus, as was the service. The staff were helpful and an issue I raised was resolved quickly and to my satisfaction.

Our hotel room was excellent, roomy, clean and well serviced. Only addition I would have liked would be a small fridge. The staff were all brilliant and very helpful. Breakfasts were fabulous with an excellent choice of cooked (full english or kippers) and continental style. Depending where your rrom is located there can be a lot of steps so people with limited mobility should check before booking. Location to town and facilities excellent. We enjoyed our stay enorously.

The old hotel with many original features; and stylish bathroom fittings, enormous comfortable bed, golden framed bed and mirrors, plenary of pictures. Beautifully large bedrooms, some recently refurbished. Extremely helpful and polite staff. Own car park at the back of the hotel. Good breakfast. Definitely will come again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The the outside space was very useful, particularly with a happy hour. Our room was clean and comfortable. Beyond the reception area, the communal stairs are very worn and the white paintwork rather grubby. This wouldn't stop us from staying again however due to its great location and friendly staff.
