Although there was some misrepresentation about the location of the home in relation to Salida, it was a beautiful place to stay. The kitchen was well stocked with all things needed to cook. The host was very communicative and thorough with instructions regarding check-in and checkout. Other guests of ours plan to rent this home again in the fall for a mountain biking trip. Four stars only due to misleading location and our plan for dinners/food/biking needing to change

Amazing house and location

Stayed here as a mini family Reunion/wedding celebration. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful property!

This is a beautiful property and a great location. We enjoyed our stay.

Due to the WiFi being spotty we would suggest you take along a few movies of your likings. Especially if you have children. We had arrived early and the cleaning crew made contact with us and were very kind. We did have issues with the lock box, we called and spoke to someone and we worked it out. Over all we really enjoyed this location and the beautiful house and cottage. We would recommend this location for your family needs.

Excellent property far from town.

The property is not at all convenient to stores or restaurants, since it is 10 miles East of Poncha Springs, on the road to Monarch pass. However, the property is very attractive, well maintained and extremely well supplied. The Retreat and the Cottage, have 6 bedrooms and 5 baths, a loft with two beds and a sofa, two living rooms and two kitchens, as well as 2 outdoor patios, a front porch and a balcony. The living room in the Retreat is very large, with a fireplace and a high ceiling. Our only complaint about the property is that, while each of the 4 bedrooms in the Retreat has a private bath, there are no bathrooms that can be accessed without walking through one of the bedrooms. This was a significant inconvenience for the two members of our party who slept in the loft.

Nice Stay

We had a good time staying here. The house was spacious and clean and the kitchen was full of everything we needed. You definitely need a 4-wheel drive vehicle in the winter. We even got a truck stuck and had to get it pulled out of the driveway. They don't clear the roads immediately after a snow so we did miss out on half a day of skiing. Also the listing states that the house has 6 suites, 4 in the main house and 2 in the cottage. That is not accurate. The cottage has 1 master suite with a king bed and a second room with a pull out sofa. It does not have a second master suite with a queen bed. Due to this error in the listing. we had kids sleeping on the floor or doubled up with parents in other beds, which was unexpected. We also lost power one evening and relied on the fireplace for warmth. There is zero cell phone service at this location, so when the power goes out you have no wifi or land lines to communicate with anyone. Just be prepared. Overall it was a great time and we had lots of fun with the adventures we encountered.
