"The place has a lot of character with traditional Chinese styling with modern facilities added. I would not recommend this place to somebody whose mobility is limited. Many things to do in walking distance. It is in a no car zone, so a hired ride would be met a couple blocks away. It on a quiet side pedestrian street, but close to busy market areas. Many options for different types of Chinese cuisine at nearby restaurants and street vendors. No need for cash as every place will take Alipay, even street vendors. Friendly staff, but you will need to be patient using translation software if you do not speak Mandarin or write Chinese. "

"This manor is a wonderful retreat featuring unique and beautifully designed villas. The property was distinctly Chinese in style and quite attractive. The villa I stayed in was well appointed, with a spacious bathroom and heated floors. It also offered a very private, generously sized outdoor yard with a hot tub, as well as a traditional Chinese wooden gazebo, perfect for sipping tea and relaxing. The restaurant was excellent, and Kadi, the general manager, provided truly exceptional service. He was an absolute pleasure. The staff overall was professional, attentive, and responsive to every need. The location is also very convenient for visiting all the major sites. I highly recommend this property when visiting Dali."

"The hotel had turned off their air conditioning system which was not known to us until to late, if I was told this at check in I would not have stayed. Staffs solution was to provide a fan but the temperature in the room still was at 25 which is too hot for me to sleep. A poor lack of communication for a calibre of this hotel. "
