Casa il Pozzo is a delightful, peaceful haven with private garden, shared pool and stunning views across the Tuscan countryside to the UNESCO heritage site of San Gimignano which is less 3 km away. Surrounded by Tuscan countryside with olive groves and vineyards producing both Chianti and Vernaccia de San Gimignano, Casa il Pozzo is the ideal place to relax. The location is ideal for both those seeking to explore the culture of Tuscany and those looking to enjoy the tranquillity of the Tuscan countryside.
Casa il Pozzo is a character filled self-catering apartment with terracotta tiled floors and vaulted stone ceilings throughout. The property (which sleeps 4-6) consists of two large bedrooms, a double and a twin, a well-appointed bathroom with walk-in shower and a large lounge/kitchen where there is a sofa bed which can accommodate a further 2 people. The property is on the ground floor and we have our own private garden, incorporating areas for eating and a barbecue, a private outdoor lounge area and a quiet breakfast area. The large swimming pool has wonderful views to San Gimignano.
We can even arrange a chef to give you and your group Italian Cooking lessons and delicious meals in the apartment. Also visits to the local vineyards and museum tickets.

The master bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe, shelving and bedside tables and lights. An extra feature of this room is the patio doors which lead out onto a secluded private patio area with a small bistro table and chairs. The twin bedroom has two single beds, a chest of drawers with mirror and shelving as well as bedside tables and lights.The well equipped bathroom has toilet, bidet, large sink and a walk in shower.
The kitchen has modern appliances including a Lavazza coffee maker, smeg hob, modern oven, dishwasher and washer/drier. All cutlery, plates and glasses are provided as are pots and pans-not forgetting the corkscrew of course! Within this large open room is a dining table and chairs with the other side of the large, bright room arranged as the lounge with comfortable seating. The large glass door takes you out to the first patio area within the private garden; here there is a table and chairs as well as a barbecue for those al fresco meals. A second patio area at the side of the property (still within the large private garden) features a comfortable rattan suite, ideal for those quiet afternoons or evenings sitting with friends or family.
The property has WiFi throughout as well as a 32inch tv and a DVD player. We provide all bedding and towels, but ask that you bring your own beach towels. Outside there are several seating areas in the private garden as well as sunbeds by the pool. To help you settle in we provide a welcome pack including pasta and wine.
Casa il Pozzo is within a quiet gated condominium of 9 properties The electric gates lead directly to the parking area and the 17mx10m swimming pool with it's stunning views across to San Gimignano and across the Tuscan countryside. The pool is surrounded by a large grassed area and flower beds full of roses. Sun umbrellas and Sunbeds are provided.

From Casa il Pozzo it is a 30-45 min stroll, alongside vineyards and olive groves and with beautiful views, into San Gimignano. There you can see (or climb) the towers, have award-winning gelato or visit the many museums. Why not spend your summer evenings listening to the open-air concerts that take place every weekend? Casa il Pozzo is on the Via della Vernaccia, a quiet road lined with vineyards. Why not explore the foods and wines of Tuscany with a wine tasting or cookery course? Or walk, cycle or ride through the countryside looking out for the deer, eagles and squirrels that frequent the area. The walk to San Gimignano can feel quite long on hot sunny days - so why not take a taxi back
There are plenty of activities in the area, including walking and cycling routes that pass the property. The Francigena pilgrimage route, now also a signposted walking route, passes close by, the area is also full of cycling and mountain biking routes, you can even hire bicycles locally(we can arrange for hire-bikes to be delivered to the property for you). Nearby stables provide opportunities for horse-riding through the Tuscan countryside for all abilities. Mountain bikes and road bikes can be delivered to the property and we have a high pressure pump that caters for all bikes.
The art and history of Italy are everywhere. San Gimignano is home to numerous galleries and museums, from those charting the city's history and showing classic artworks by painters like Massachio to those supporting contemporary artists. Nearby cities like Colle de val d'Elsa and Volterra continue their traditions of crystal making and alabaster carving. Florence, with all its history and art including the Doumo and Uffici Gallery, is only 40 minutes away, as is Siena, where the world famous Pallio runs in July and August. Pisa, and it's leaning tower, is just over an hours drive from the property.
Ideally placed to explore Tuscany, Casa il Pozzo is only 40 minutes from the great cities of Florence and Siena while Pisa is just over one hour away. For a bit of luxury why not visit one of Tuscany’s spas where the natural hot water springs bubble to the surface? Day trips to the seaside are another easy option, either following the new motorway to Grosetto or trying the Coast at Livorno; either resort is about 1 ½ hours away.
