Wonderful staff who can't do enough for their guests. The seawater pool is the main attraction (though the actual sea is about 1°C warmer for some reason). The food is excellent especially the scallops linguine. Very quiet despite being next door to the airport. Would stay again.

I had the most incredible experience at The Albatroz. The location alone is spectacular — perched right on the ocean with views that honestly feel unreal. The pool overlooking the water is just gorgeous; it became one of my favourite places to unwind and soak in the scenery. What really set this place apart, though, was the staff. Every single person I interacted with was warm, friendly, and genuinely accommodating in a way that felt completely authentic. It never felt forced — just true hospitality. The food was another highlight. Every meal was delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of fresh flavours. It was a treat every time we sat down to eat. I truly can’t recommend The Albatroz highly enough. If you’re considering it, go — you’ll be so glad you did. Jadah

We had the most wonderful stay. Every member of the team here is truly exceptional at what they do — we were blown away by the warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail. With only 20 rooms, the hotel offers a much more personal and intimate experience, which made our stay feel even more special. The amenities are fantastic — we especially loved the natural pool and the tennis courts. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team, including the housekeeping staff, for maintaining such a beautiful and welcoming environment. We truly hope to return one day!

Our stay was nothing but exceptional - every little detail from the complimentary airport transfer, the amazing breakfast and dinner service, the lovely staff (every single one of them), the clean and spacious room to the fantastic facilities and the list goes on, made our trip to Madeira an unforgettable one. This was a gem of a find. The facilities are slightly dated but the upkeep and condition is excellent. All of the staff that we encountered were superb. We felt that the selection that we had at the restaurant were very good and a good value. We'd recommend this hotel to our family and friends -- we would like to do a return visit ourselves!

Very friendly, well run family owned hotel. Spacious rooms and wonderful pools. Don’t be put off by the fact it is under the airport. The noise does not seem to reach the hotel. Short walk into the nearest town which is mainly along the promenade after a short walk next to a motorway. We did this on average once a day.

The staff went above and beyond to help us. We arrived at 1am and they made sandwiches fruit and yogurt and brought them to our room because we mentioned we were hungry. That was one of a dozen little things the did for us.

Hidden gem

It was a one day solo trip because the hotel was near the airport and offered a free shuttle when I got there. I was totally surprised by the service from the front desk. The wait staff and everybody there with a pleasant surprise Fabrício and Bernardo are especially helpful to me along with, Anna and Sarah what a wonderful stay there made

Best hotel ever!!!

This is an amazing hotel. I would give it 12 out of 10 stars. If I could, the staff was beyond amazing they knew about my allergy before I even opened my mouth to say anything. Our servers were excellent. The food was excellent. The breakfast was excellent. The surrounding area is lovely and won’t get airport noise, even though you are a two minute drive from the airport. There is a heated pool and a lovely bar by the pool. The only thing that we have to say that was negative is we wish we could’ve stayed way longer.😃

The extra touches… fruit basket when I arrived, daily treats delivered to room before supper, incredible food, especially fish dish with banana. The ocean saltwater pools, sun deck with service next to heated pool … staff very kind and friendly, they treated me like a king. The view and rhythmic gentle crashing of wave on the cliff below. The sunrise and sunset here is … calming to soul. Very clean and kept resort. Flowers and grass. Close to airport and town is just a short walk Highly recommend this resort.

Love the stay at this hotel , the only thing we didn’t like was the breakfast it was cold and didn’t have much options, other than that it was a great place with friendly staff.
