Wonderful Pico Stay

Casa de Ferreiro is an incredible property, quietly nestled on wonderful Pico Island. You can easily access the entire island from this location, though it is tempting to just relax on the incredible balcony. Great bathrooms, water pressure and check in process as well.

Spectacular views, wonderful home, attentive service

Our family of 4 stayed four nights in this beautiful home high above the north shore of Pico, about 5 minutes east of Sao Roque center. Everything worked fine and the house is exactly as advertised. Here are some pro tips -- the house has concrete floors so prepare for a little extra humidity and bring slippers or house socks. There is extra EVERYTHING in the house, it is the most well equipped VRBO we have ever stayed in. There are 2 space heaters and one dehumidifier unit. The dehumidifier will run for about 5 hours before it needs to be emptied. Keep that in mind with respect to nighttime and sleeping. The space heaters will heat up a room quickly and have thermostats built in so you don't overheat at night. The laundry machine is a washer and dryer all-in-one, it works well and will completely dry your clothes without having to hang them dry. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and the other bedrooms share a bathroom. You can get anywhere on Pico in 30 minutes or less from the house, it is in a very central location. The wifi works very well and is actually portable so you can take it out for the day with you when traveling. However the wifi signal (or the cell phone tower signals) does not reach the downstairs bedrooms so it is best to take the router downstairs with you at night if you want to have connectivity for phones, iPads etc at night or when you wake up. The local manager Lucia was very attentive and helpful and gave us very nice welcome gifts upon our arrival. We would definitely return to this home on a future trip to Pico.

Wir fanden den Aufenthalt in dem Haus super und kommen wieder hier hin. Der Blick von der Terrasse ist super! Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet die Betten waren bequem und die Kinder haben sich nicht über das WLAN beschwert.Das einzige was wir vermisst haben waren Liegestühle, ist aber persönlicher Luxus.Für Leute, die nicht gut zu Fuß sind ist das Haus jedoch nichts, das es einen sehr steilen Weg zur Straße hat.

Geräumige, gut gelegene Unterkunft an der Nordseite von Pico.

Familie von 2 Erwachsenen und 3 Kindern (15,13,8), 5 Nächte, Anreise mit Mietauto. Sowohl die Schlafzimmer, Nasszellen und die grosse Stube war sehr gut geeignet um auch an einem regnerischen Tag drinnen zu sein. Die Küche war zweckdienlich ausgestattet. Die in den Azoren häufig anzutreffende Feuchtigkeit in den Häusern (wir waren auch auf Sao Miguel oder Faial) war in diesem Haus erträglich trotz des modernen Betonbaus. Mit dem vorhandenen Luftentfeuchter war dies jedoch gut handhabbar. Die Lage der Unterkunft war geeignet innerhalb von einer halben Stunden ganz im Westen in Madalena, ganz im Osten Nordeste oder ganz im Süden Lajes do Pico mit dem Auto zu erreichen.
