Villa Acantilado in Coco is a 2-story, 4-bedroom, 4-bath beauty in Ladera del Mar, an exclusive residential development 10 minutes from the beach. About 200 meters before the turnoff to Playa Hermosa, it has views of the ocean and valley in back, and you can see the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano from the front.



The Space:

Two matching master bedrooms have king beds, wall-mounted TVS, walk-in closets and full en-suite bathrooms. A third bedroom has one king or two singles with TV, and one bedroom/office has a double pull-down Murphy bed. All bedrooms have a view of the ocean and valley, and two of the bathrooms have double sinks. This fully furnished home has four TVs, air conditioning and Wi-Fi, plus a brand-new washer and dryer.



Most of the furniture in the home was custom-built under the guidance of a good interior designer. We would describe the décor as warm contemporary. The kitchen has all new stainless-steel appliances, a convection oven, sous vide and air-fry options available for cooking variety. The fridge has an ice and water dispenser, the cabinets were custom-built in Spain and the island has seating for four. The custom-made rectangular dining table is made of local guanacaste wood and seats 8. There is also an outdoor kitchen with a high-end barbecue, hidden propane tank and full white cabinetry with granite counters. The 10-meter infinity pool has a submerged sun platform and a lap lane for serious swimmers, also with ocean and valley views, plus an outdoor shower. A large outdoor terrace features lounge chairs and tables.



The property generally does not allow animals or pets, this includes service and emotional support animals. For detailed information, please refer to the booking policy and/or house rules.



Ladera Del Mar is a gated property, extremely private and secure, and this home also has its own private gate. Views are amazing, and it’s a short drive to Playas del Coco, Playa Hermosa or the international airport in Liberia.

The bustling beachfront of Playas del Coco is a short drive away, as is the chill but sweet spot at nearby Playa Hermosa. Restaurants, bars, shops, nightlife and adventures abound, and (rare but true) there’s even a movie theater in Hermosa. Coco is famous for adventures by sea, including fishing, scuba, sunset cruises, snorkeling and more. Inland adventures are also within easy striking distance, including ziplining, whitewater rafting, animal rescue centers, ATV rentals and just about any other Costa Rican tour you could think of.

Pet-friendly policy



We welcome your furry friends at our property! Before you book, each pet must be verified and approved based on breed and size (max 35 lbs.), accompanied by a recent photo. A refundable pet fee of $200 per stay, along with an additional cleaning fee of $50 + 13% per pet, is required to ensure our home remains pristine for all guests. We allow up to two pets per reservation. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times in public areas within the property grounds. Certain properties and complexes may have specific rules and registration requirements. Pets need to be verified at least 24 hours prior to check-in. If guests arrive at check-in with unverified pets, access to the property will be denied.

The Neighborhood:

This big town/little city on Costa Rica’s Gold Coast has it all, starting with a gorgeous, blue-green bay dotted with fishing boats, dive boats and sailboats offering sunset tours.

In front of the popular beach is a winding promenade with a basketball court and skate park, and the area is rich in hotels, restaurants, bars and stores catering to every need.

Known for its vibrant nightlife as much as its chill pace, Playas del Coco claims to have been the first beach town in Guanacaste reachable by road. Its proximity to the Liberia airport is a plus, and it’s even closer to the nearby beach towns of Ocotal and Hermosa.

On weekend nights on the main drag, live music and DJ beats pour out of the popular Zi Lounge and Coconutz restaurants (among others).

Coco is home to an upscale Auto Mercado grocery store, the exclusive Pacifico resort community and much more. Many foreigners have come to visit and never left. You can often find these happily aging expats swapping tales at the big rubber tree in front of Bambú Beach Front Bar, or just watching the world go by from one of the open-air bars downtown.



Getting Around:

Our agents will be happy to assist you with renting a car, giving you the freedom to explore the area where you want, when you want. For short drives to nearby towns or beaches, golf carts are another popular mode of transportation. You can also rent a bicycle to ride around in town or beyond.



We can arrange transfers to and from the airport. Rental cars can also be delivered to your property at no additional cost, allowing you to relax and enjoy the scenery as our private van drives you here from the airport.



Taxis are available but can be a bit hard to find. Many locals use buses to get around, though there are a limited number of routes and times of day when you can catch them. Private shuttles can be a great option for traveling to nearby destinations, and many tour companies offer transportation to and from the tour. Our information brochure will provide you with useful information on local transportation options and points of interest, as well as contact information for taxis and shuttles.



Other Things to Note:

Special Places of Costa Rica is committed to protecting our properties and complying with short-term rental regulations, which is why all guests are required to complete an independent verification with our trusted partner, TRUVI, before check-in. You will be contacted via email, text, or app notification with instructions to complete this process. As part of the verification, you will need to choose between paying a refundable security deposit (which includes a non-refundable 2% processing fee) or purchasing a non-refundable damage waiver, which protects you in case of accidental damage during your stay. We strongly recommend the damage waiver, as it provides peace of mind and avoids tying up funds with a deposit. Both the TRUVI verification and your selection of either the deposit or the damage waiver must be completed prior to your arrival.
