“Lovely room with walk in shower, comfy bed ,clean and with helpful, cheerful staff to assist you with any queries. A breakfast fit for Royalty, who could ask for more. Good well stocked bar with an evening menu to please all appetites including vegetarian.I will certainly return.”

“The Grand Hotel is a beautiful hotel in a great location. The room (a triple / family room) was clean and convenient. The fans in the room (in the midst of a heatwave) and the water dispenser in reception were great touches. We were initially impressed with the proactive communication prior to our visit. However, the code we were given (twice) for the NCP wouldn't work on arrival and we were told by NCP it had expired in March 2026. On raising this with Barbara at reception, we received a shrug……

“Staff are really great and friendly! The room we stayed is near the alley which is noisy during the night that we couldn’t sleep well. And the pillows are flat that are not comfortable. ”

I would also like to commend the night staff, who were exceptionally professional, understanding, and accommodating throughout our stay. However, our experience in Room 11 was deeply unsettling. During the night, my partner was abruptly woken and believed she had been physically touched, which caused her considerable distress. When we raised this with staff, we were informed that similar reports had been made……

“Gorgeous location. Big room with comfy bed and good bathroom. Cosy bar and we enjoyed a lovely meal. Nice walk into the tiny village for cafe and another pub. Good value. If you’re not a dog person it’s worth noting there were a lot of guests with dogs.”

“Friendly welcoming staff, varied menu and excellent food and atmosphere in the bar area. Good choice of breakfast and plenty of it. Clean and quiet room with a comfortable bed and small but adequate en-suite. We would stay again and would happily recommend it to others.”

“On arrival my husband was given a door key card not the actual key that was actually needed. He was stuck outside the room on the second floor because had had all the luggage and didn't want to lug it back downstairs. Room was very hot with no view but fortunately had a fan. Bed was comfortable and TV reception was very poor. Best I can do was our stay was 2 star.🙂‍↕️”
