Tucked away in the peaceful village of Snainton, this charming stone cottage is one of two delightful properties set opposite each other in a quiet courtyard, each completely self‑contained, giving you privacy and your own cosy corner of the village. It’s an ideal setting for romantic escapes or relaxed weekends with friends. Snainton offers everything you need within a short stroll: a welcoming pub, a friendly chippy, a post office and a great children’s playground. Set at the foot of the North York Moors, the cottage is perfectly placed for exploring the National Park, the Yorkshire coast, Dalby Forest and the rolling Wolds. Scarborough’s beaches are just 10 miles away, and Pickering’s famous North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway makes a lovely day out. Whether you’re craving coastal walks, woodland trails or slow scenic drives, this is a gorgeous base for discovering North Yorkshire.
Step inside the entrance hall (mind the low lintel) and into a warm, inviting barn conversion full of rustic charm. Traditional features, tiled floors, wooden panelling and exposed beams blend with soft, neutral décor to create a cosy, intimate atmosphere ideal for romantic nights in or catch‑ups with friends. The contemporary kitchen is fully equipped for everything from simple breakfasts to leisurely dinners. In the lounge, sink into the comfortable sofas, choose a film on the Smart TV and unwind after a day exploring. The dining table is perfect for long, chatty meals, and on warm evenings you can open the living room door to let the fresh country air drift in. Upstairs are two beautifully presented bedrooms: a spacious king‑size room with a large window, and a flexible king‑size zip‑and‑link room (which can be arranged as 2ft 6in twins on request). This layout makes the cottage ideal for two couples travelling together or friends wanting their own space. A modern shower room completes the first floor, with a separate WC downstairs.
Outside, the cottage enjoys a sweet enclosed patio, which is a real sun trap, bordered by raised flower beds. It’s the perfect spot for slow morning coffees, a glass of wine at sunset or relaxed alfresco dining after a day exploring. There is on‑road parking directly outside the property, along with undercover bike storage and secure locks for those bringing bikes to enjoy the moors and forest trails.
