This is our 3rd visit to the area, but the first with this property management company. There were 14 people staying in our cabin ages 11-64. While the cabin itself is very nice and offered what we needed, unfortunately, we experienced several issues during our stay.
1. Upon arrival, the home was not clean. There was dirt and food on the floor (tomato and crumbs), dried liquid on the ceiling above the dining room table, and the floors looked as if they had not been swept or mopped in some time. There was a massive amount of dust bunnies in several rooms.
2. The dryer handle is broken and replaced with a coat hanger which sliced the finger of one of our guests
3. The bathroom door on the 2nd floor does not shut
4. There were dirty dishes in the cabinet
5. There is a mouse (approx 6 inches) in the house on the second floor. We attempted to catch it, but were unsuccessful. (I don’t blame the management company for this as it’s cold outside and mice are looking for warmth, but I thought it was important they know)
I brought these issues to the property management’s attention prior to our final day and asked how they would like to compensate us for the troubles we had. I was told that we did not give them an opportunity to correct the issues so no reimbursement of any kind would be offered.
When renting a cabin, I expect the home to be cleaned before our arrival with working appliances in the home. Again, the home is lovely, but I expected more from the management co.
