"Halifax Hall is a unique jewell in the area of Sheffield in which it lies. From the beautiful architecture of the building to the peaceful grounds on the Sheffield University, Halifax Hall is a one of a kind experience! The room was cozy and comfortable with all amenities included. The staff were extra kind, friendly, and professional. The restaurant and pub provided outstanding food and service, The complimentary snacks available were very much appreciated. The location was like being set apart from the world .Quiet, beautiful flowing stream, and lovely trees and plants. We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to return one day This property is unique and very special. Elen Mabe, USA"

"The greeting from the reception was fine, abit dull & expected better from the Marriott brand. Presentation was poor, shirts hanging out and ill fitted suits. Room was fine, couldn’t find the hairdryer. Breakfast was good, small buffet area but it had everything you would want. Orange juice was not orange juice."

"Lift was broken, but luckily only on the second floor. No offer of help with luggage. Room was basic with no kettle or hairdryer. Really convenient for the Arena and only a short tram ride to Meadowhall. Would consider staying again, but would depend on who I was travelling with as the only way out of the shower was into the room, and there wasn't enough room in there to get dressed."

"The room did not have the ability to access Netflix or other streaming services. When I contacted reception, I was informed that the hotel had not yet set up the Chromecast functionality, so streaming was unavailable. The air conditioning was also very noisy, with the motor producing a constant whining sound, which was disruptive and had to be turned off especially during sleep. The mattress also did not appear to be a queen size, despite the room being booked with a queen bed. It was noticeably too short, and my husband's legs were hanging off the end of the bed, making it uncomfortable to sleep. Shower pressure extremely low."
