Undulating fields Not all of Norfolk is flat - the landscape in North Norfolk was formed during the last ice age, leaving distinctive topographical features such as the steep northern slope and the more gentle southern face of the Cromer Ridge with its outlying spurs, hills and undulations. This view was taken in northeasterly direction, across frozen fields. The fields with winter crops growing are covered with frost, whereas the ploughed fields are not white. Beech Farm (in adjacent grid square) can be seen in the background (at right) and Willow Farm can just be glimpsed at left.

Maize and cereal fields. The narrow strips of maize are planted to provide food and shelter for the game birds (partridges and pheasants) in the area and feeders have been placed along the field edges at regular intervals > 982902.

The spa was inviting and the staff very good. Made to feel comfortable and the treatment was great. The pool area was okay and while we did enjoy it we just feel it lacked an intimate atmosphere as was a gym club. Definitely could have done with either drinks service for guests or a bar. However ...

Lovely spacious standard room. Very quiet overnight, I did not hear noise from other rooms. Very friendly reception staff. Pool facilities looked lovely, although I didn’t have time to use them.
