Peaceful Country Setting

A unique home in a quiet country setting. The listing perfectly described all the features. We had a comfortable stay, and the dogs enjoyed the outdoor space as well.

Cool and quirky

The architecture and setting of this home is amazing. It comes with 2 very friendly goats and dog. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it, if you are looking for something unique and off the beaten path.

Loved the kitchen and family room. Very spacious and well equipped. I think my dog enjoyed the vacation more than we did...running around outside and playing with the goats, dogs and wild turkeys!

Jewelry box cabin

This was like staying in my Aunts jewelry box. I mean this in the best ways. It’s was beyond charming upon arrival. Music and a bottle of wine. Well we enjoyed the music and the bro welcome. Our kids loved the water, goats and doggos. The art and interior are fascinating to see. Would definitely for people looking for a charming experience.

Fun and unique house

My family had a great stay at Painted Pony Ranch! We loved the warm atmosphere, the sweeping views from the living room, and the close proximity to skiing at Snowmass…and the goats! The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were very comfortable, and we enjoyed having movie night and watching the Super Bowl on the huge screen in the living room. Kevin is a thoughtful host who took care of every detail!

As described- fun getaway

Property is just as described. No surprises. We enjoyed Kevin’s hospitality, the dogs and goats. We wanted a place to get away from usual plugged in lifestyle while not being too far away from it and this place did the trick. Our 3 yo enjoyed the stay too.

Peaceful farmhouse

This property is exactly as it states! It was wonderful! Sitting by the pond or in the hammock to the birds chirping and friendly dogs and goats coming up for loving and petting was so relaxing. It was a great way to unwind. We were there for the mother lode volleyball tournament in Aspen and it was a close drive away!! Kevin was so great and friendly!!

Our perfect stay and wedding!!

Our stay here was AMAZING. The home is so cute and cozy. It was so fun having the chickens, goat and dogs roaming around, they’re very friendly so don’t be scared! The owner Kevin had great communication, he kindly allowed my now husband and I to have our wedding reception here and I couldn’t have asked for a better location. Our entire friends and family were in awe of everything. Kevin, thank you again for being so welcoming and allowing us to have our event here. For anyone looking to have an intimate party I highly recommend booking here! We’ll definitely be coming back!

Unique and Quiet Retreat

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this countryside home. Classical music set the welcoming tone for our arrival and the home was wonderfully lit and prepared for us. The home itself was beautiful with a unique architecture and interesting artwork. Although we didn't need or use much, it appeared that it was equipped with everything that we might need for our stay. Their was also a small book to greet us which provided all necessary details for our stay and recommendations for the surrounding area. The location was ideal. We were adventuring during the daytime to Marble, Snowmass, and Aspen. The ranch was wonderfully situated to provide us a short drive for our daily excursions and a quiet and comfortable escape in the evenings. One of the highlights of the property for my children especially (but also for me I must admit), was being greeted daily by Hamlet, Ophelia, and Tikka...Buddy showed us some love occasionally as well. Very sweet animal residents that were very gentle and patient with the kids (to include a rambunctious 4 year old). Although we didn't have the pleasure of meeting our host, Kevin, directly, he was very quick to respond through the VRBO app. It was clear that a lot of care and attention to detail had been put into making this home a welcoming and peaceful retreat. Highly recommend this host and The Painted Pony if you're looking for a unique and quiet VRBO in the Aspen/Snowmass area. We hope to visit again in the future. Thank you for hosting!

Beautiful location near Aspen

Good location of property with animals wondering about-chickens, goats and other dogs! Would caution other dog owners that if your dog is not use to farm animals, it might be a bit stressful, same with small children. There’s a pound in the backyard, stay vigilant! Not a fan of NOT being able to lock either sliding glass door. It just felt unsafe, not just from humans but wildlife-bear intruders. Trash is not secure or in bear proof trash area! It’s right outside of unlocked sliding glass door. Unit is very exposed to outside with large glass windows with no privacy shades or curtains. It gets uncomfortably hot during the day. There is no over head lighting which is also strange and dark at night (only lamps scattered about). Property could use a good deep clean! View from windows would be spectacular if they were clean!! Kitchen and bathrooms were not clean on arrival. Dishwasher is not properly installed. Coffee maker was broken. As far as other VRBOs, the personal toiletries in bathroom and leftover kitchen spices and other food items were not expected or welcome. Not a standard VRBO kitchen or bathroom which is void of other people’s stuff. There is no TV or cable to unit. It would be nice to have the option of a TV in main room and bedrooms. Let visitors decide to watch TV or go without. Overall, this could be an outstanding VRBO in the Aspen area but it needs some TLC, major cleaning and updates to compete with other VRBOs in the area!

Perfect home for your stay in the mountains

This beautiful home was the perfect stay for my friends and me while on vacation to ski and see music in Aspen. Kevin is an incredible host and such a nice person. If I'm back in this area of Colorado, I won't be staying anywhere else!

Unique getaway in paradise

We loved our stay in gorgeous Old Snowmass and felt right at home in this charming property complete with goats and chickens. Our host was responsive and the house had everything we needed. Close to both Aspen and Basalt and more spectacular hikes than we could fit in in 2 quick weeks! Would love to visit again.

Fun at the Painted Pony

The Painted Pony is in a beautiful setting. We and our dog enjoyed the property. We really like this location as it's close to Aspen, Basalt, and Carbondale with their gorgeous scenery and many hiking opportunities to burn off the calories from all the good food. The host, Kevin, is very helpful and we really enjoyed our conversations with him.
