"The location was lovely and the onsen and outdoor otaru baths were totally worth the trip! The buffet breakfast had a ton of options and was tasty. Our family room was a very tight squeeze for 4 people, but otherwise fine. We had limited interactions with the staff, but they were helpful and accommodating when we needed anything!"

"This hotel was a last minute addition to our trip. It's super close to some great hikes, set in a quiet onsen town and near a ropeway to get up to the top of the nearby mountains for amazing views. Food options in the hotel were many... so everyone was happy. Overall, loved our stay here!!! They even had a bingo game which we joined in... pretty funny. I won and gave my prize away. Onsen were also super nice!!! Oh, and the sound of the river all night was so soothing while we slept!!! Loved the Sounkyo Onsen Choyo Resort."
