The view!

Easy to book, property has a great view, there is a beautiful pool and a huge hot tub, it was off season so we had a very quiet and relaxing time. Easy access to the beach. Not very many people in the building or out in the pool. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.

Great place!

We had a great time staying at this cozy condo in Sapphire. Place is decorated nicely, very clean and has an equipped kitchen. View of the beach from the balcony was lovely and made the stay even better while having a cup of coffee. Great memory! Beautiful beach and property is well maintained!

I am so pleased with the VRBO we rented a few weeks ago. It was a great location with great amenities for the whole family. Even though the weather wasn’t awesome, we still had a great time. The condo was well furnished and very comfortable. The only thing I would ask is for beach towels to be available for use, but other than that we were very happy. The furnishings were nice and the view was spectacular!

Family Christmas Vacation.

The location was great. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool was said to be heated, but it was not. One of the showers had little or no flow. We had to have 7 people use one shower. There were not extra towels. We had to get by with 5 towels for 7 people. Other than these small items the place was great and we would go back.

Great views and very clean.

We had a wonderful stay. I would have appreciated knowing ahead of time that I did not need to go to the Padre Island Rentals office per online instructions for check-in and that all check-in processes were to be completed at the Sapphire. Please be aware that the Sapphire counts ANY visitors as an occupant (guest) of your rental and they are very strict about this policy. This also would have been nice to know prior to booking. Because of this rule, my parents were not allowed to visit us in the rental property for dinner. Also, the condo only provided 2 beach/pool towels for 8 guests and a minimal amount of toilet paper, so you may want to bring some of those items for yourself. Some of the condo walls, especially in the entry, had scuff marks and the kitchen needed upgraded utensils, pots, and pans, but other than that, this place was great! The condo was very clean and had amazing views! I would recommend staying here to others.

Lack of maintenance communication

Condo is beautiful, I paid alot of money for a nice place to say, however our dishwasher never worked and neither did the dryer. I was traveling with my grandchildren, we washed dishes after every meal …dryer never worked properly.. I can only hope the next family doesn’t have the same problem .. it was a problem .. I called Padre rentals severos times and left messages, I never got a call back ..

Disappointed

Our family has stayed at the Sapphire many many times in the past so we were sadly disappointed with this property. We had to wait after arrival to have the water "turned on" so they were not prepared for our arrival even though we arrived after 5pm. The ice maker in the refrigerator never worked so had to go buy ice. The last evening, the air conditioner decided to stop working; when management was notified their response was "well you're checking out by 11 tomorrow morning anyway." (No apology was ever offered! Just the "you're leaving soon" repeated.) Was not pleasant having to dress and pack to depart in a condo with a temperature of 80 degrees. Having always enjoyed our stays at the Sapphire we were looking forward to planning our annual family gathering (looking at 3+ condos to rent to accommodate our large family of 25+ members). Needless to say, we will look elsewhere for our accommodations.

Great Condo, except....

My experience at Sapphire this time around has more to do with the pool construction and not the Sapphire 802 itself. We have stayed at the Sapphire before, as well as many other locations on SPI over the years. The condo was fantastic, except for the bed in the master bedroom. It has a killer shin destroyer. It has a mattress that does not go all the way to the edges and has a "shelf" around the entire bed...We had to put a chair on the corner of the bed in order to protect our elderly mother in law so that she would not get tripped up and fall. My wife still has a bruise where she decided to try and walk around the corner of the bed. It's a strange bed and just a terrible idea all around. That said, the property was clean and well furnished. I would stay there again. The workout room is fantastic. The staff is cordial and parking is convenient. The bad... We were never told the pool and all hot tubs were not available for use until we arrived. The pool was being sandblasted Mon-Friday, from 8 am until 5pm. The noise was so loud, it prevented us from having the sliding glass door to the balcony open at all, not to mention the kids were disappointed that the pool was closed. My family and I have been coming down to SPI since 1996, every single year, and will continue to do so. In fact, we have next year's reservation already set at another property. I am not sure I would stay here again because of the bed and I'm a still upset the pool was closed and we weren't told until we arrived.

Sapphire Condo in SPI

Spacious clean condo. Great view and location. Beachside umbrella service and huge pool. Seaside Grill will bring food and beverages to you while you’re chilling on the beach or you can enter through Margaritaville and order cocktails. Overall great stay. The condo is equipped with plenty of beach and pool toys. Things the owner could improve on would be better pillows and have a Kuerig coffee maker. Ceiling fan in master bedroom is loud and needs to be adjusted. Also the condo instructions say there’s a towel exchange on the property, but that is not an option so laundry detergent is needed to wash throughout your stay.

Poor communication

We had several things wrong with our rental. Upon our arrival, discovered the dish washer was “out of order.” Additionally, a closet door was off its hinges, the tv in one of the bedrooms did not work and was hanging crooked, and there were several light bulbs that were burnt out, particularly in the bathrooms. Upon calling the management company and leaving a message, no reply Ofcourse. I called again and the person stated that “they would let her manager know and they would be in contact with me.” No contact ever happened. This quite possibly the worst rental company we’ve encountered, and I certainly expect better for the amount of money I paid for the place. They could have at least communicated that the dish washer was broke as someone put an out of order sign on it. We will never deal with south padre rentals ever again, and I urge Vrbo to encourage others to look elsewhere. They’re only interest is in getting paid, for nothing in my opinion.

Sapphire condo 802

This was my second year here at the sapphire. The condo we stayed at this time was nice with a beautiful view. Their were a couple things I didn't like. One was I wasn't notified they were doing work to the side of the building by the balcony. It was very loud and chips off of the building (paint) would hit us when on the balcony. Ropes were hanging and would hit the bars and bedroom window. I called to notify SPI and was told the sapphire don't let them know when they are doing work. Had problems with a TV they came right away to fix the problem and the man who fixed it was really helpful. One of the kids found a razor blade in the couch luckily no one was hurt. Everyone at the sapphire and surrounding areas was really nice. I wish they had the bar open this year.
