Martinela helped me find a driver from Berat to Gjirokaster at well under the rate I could secure on my own. We corresponded a few weeks prior to our stay which was great. She also checked us in and gave us some great restaurant recommendations. The owner had stunning fresh flowers from her own garden in the lobby during our stay. These little touches were everywhere. The first word that comes to mind when thinking of the Valza Boutique Hotel in Vlora is "hospitality." Even by the high Albanian standards, the owners and staff of this hotel are incredibly hospitable. The hotel is owned and operated by a family. They truly care about your stay with them being exceptional. Not a large corporation or "hotel chain." The decor is modern, elegant and comfortable. The construction (walls, doors, etc.) is solid and soundproof. The view of the Vlora bay from the roof terrace is incredible. The free breakfast is prepared daily with fresh, local ingredients including traditional albanian cakes and pastries. We booked a week then extended our stay another week. We were very pleased we chose this hotel for our stay in Vlora. "
