St. Augustine St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum Hotels

"Our room did not reflex the reviews nor photos. It was badly maintained inside and out. At arrival we were told that our original room was upgraded to a king suite, if this was an upgrade, I don't want to see what we originally had. Upon entering, we noticed there was no dresser to keep clothes nor shelves, the walls had holes and there was mold in the corners of the shower. The closet had a couple hangers, but no shelving to put clothes. The bed was a mattress on a spring board. The other furniture was two small uncomfortable futons that looked very old and not appealing to sit on, and an old office chair with no arms. With no other rooms available, we had to keep this room. But even if there were rooms available. The furniture was old and uncomfortable. There was stains on the furniture as well. The bathroom looked like it was started to be updated, but was stopped for some reason. One towel rack, no where to store extra towels and on our last morning we had no hot water. Breakfast was average, but the breakfast food was kept at the correct temperature and the serving area and tables were kept clean. It was the same breakfast everyday, with no variety. Four tables that seated 6 and four tables that seated 2 were the only place to sit for breakfast. The hotel was an easy walk to the historical area and it did have a trolly stop for those who could not walk the 5 blocks. These two things are the only positive to our experience. "We loved this hotel! We came to explore St. Augustine and also to visit the beach. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and in a great location. Breakfast each morning was great. "

"Our stay at The Local excellent overall . The road noise can be a little loud in the evening but it gets better later in the night. The cleanliness was a 9/10 and comfort was a 8/10. The room could use a comfortable chair for relaxing. The pool was a nice bonus even though it was a little cool for a dip. The staff less operation of property was not an issue. It was much like renting a vacation property through other agencies. We would stay again. "

"What a great way to celebrate a family birthday! Our hideaway in the trees with the pond and pool and inlet in our backyard was the perfect backdrop. Cabe and Brittany are terrific hosts—they facilitated our lovely holiday. "
