Beach views were great and rooms were clean and spacious.
Positives - reasonable price, central location, sea view from room, which was clean.
Negatives- room very hot- not possible to turn off radiator, road noise made it difficult to sleep, very aged/ faded decor

Great stay
Lovely position, easy access to get there by trains & buses, over looking 1 of the fantastic beaches
Staff great, nice bar, superb breakfast, bed comfortable. 5 min walk from railway station and the town. Some parts a little dated but doesn't make the stay worse.

This hotel has seen better days but I think it is currently under refurbishment. Nonetheless it is clean, well maintained. Rooms are big and I was granted a sea view room even if I booked a regular first priced room. The breakfast is average but I likes it.
The staff is nice and helpful. I like the charm of the 70s-80s Grand Hotels, if you do too I would highly recommend the St Ives Bay
Room 102 lovely but very tired, peeling paint, mould and a year of dust in the bathroom, dressing and bed area clean, very draughty by the beautiful windows, sash cords missing but they do provide a lump of wood to keep window open if needed, also thick in dust peeling paint and mould …. Stains on the carpet and walls… needs a lot of money spent on it, breakfast was fine, some nice staff others couldn’t be bothered… perfect location!! Would I stay again? Yes , but would take some cleaning products

Convenient place
Great deal - good for one night - spacious single room with magnificent seaview. Close to trainstation and beach.
We were apprehensive after reading previous reviews, however we were positively surprised. Our family room was large and spacious and the beds very comfortable. The deco is dated but everything was clean, the staff lovely and what a view!!
If you want luxury, 5* accommodation, this isn't for you. If you want a comfortable, friendly hotel to stay in while having easy access to the town centre of St Ives, this is it.

The staff were very attentive and polite. The hotel is in need of refurbishment. The room had everything we required for our stay.
The view was terrific, unbeatable from sea view rooms. Reception staff did their best to help resolve problems however I repeatedly asked for food stuff to be removed from the carpet. A lot of this rambling hotel is tired but it’s comfortable and the breakfast was nice.
Nice location in beautiful St Ives. Close to station, Porthminster Beach and a bustling harbour with lovely shops and restaurants. Very nice staff. Large, Comfortable room overlooking sea. Due to hotel only having a couple of parking spaces, the nearest car park was down a steep hill with lots of steps which would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.
Overall, an enjoyable stay.
The lobby’s and dinning areas where clean and nice but the room I was in “21”well it needs to be taken out of service, all the wall was showing mould had been there previous and just painted over, pipes in corner of room had mould and rust pulled the bed out away from wall covered in mould, carpet had holes in all over, bed mattress and base needed throwing away. Can’t say anything about other rooms as I only had access to the room I was in. wouldn’t stay here again. If I could upload photos I would :( :(
This Hotel truly has seen better days. The rooms are tired and need updating. Honestly not fit to stay here really as the carpets are worn and dirty, paintwork is tired and not been done for many years. This is unfortunately a place that doent have much longer to go before it closes. Please save this place because it is in a lovely location

We booked 1 night ..it was very dated and in need of updating and refurbishment. Carpets were old and marked, bedroom walls were tatty and the bathroom was clean but the sealant was mouldy looking. The beds were clean and comfortable. It was ok.
