Great place to stay, highly recommended!
The unit I stayed in was very clean and tidy, had all the amenities I needed, all appliances worked, the place was in a safe area, and the owner, Donna, was living in the unit right next door, was friendly, helpful and available in whatever way she was needed. The windows on 3 of the 4 sides of the unit allowed me to forgo the use the A/C unit the whole time due to the pleasant breeze that was nearly always there, plus the floor and ceiling fans. Lots of dogs barking throughout many of the nights meant I sometimes had to don earplugs, which did the trick.
The location is in a relatively quiet neighborhood with an excellent, full-featured grocery store a short, 2 min. drive away. I originally planned to go without a rental car, opting instead for walking, bike rental and taxi when needed. However, in the first few days I quickly realized that walking or riding on the island was rather daunting due to lack of sidewalks or bike lanes. So, I caved and rented a car, which was relatively inexpensive and turned out to be a great move. Access to two nearby beaches (Runaway and Ft. James) was a short 5 min. drive, although I visited many great beaches around the island, along with hiking and snorkeling. With the car, I was able to get all around the island relatively quickly and easily.
