I'll start with the positives. The AC went out. We tried to trouble shoot with batteries in the thermostat. When that wasn't the solution we called the realtor and the service guy was out within 30 minutes. This we appreciated so much because it was humid. Of course the views of the gulf were stunning and we had a great view while prepping in the kitchen. Realtor employees were always nice, responsive.
Now the bad: The check-in process could jump into the 20th century with KEYLESS entry. Managing keys while you're at the beach is archaic. I'll preface the rest of my review by stating that we have been visiting IRB for 11+ years & in total have stayed at 3 places. This was by far the most disappointing & overpriced unit. We have stayed at other condos with similar set ups, (beachfront, W/D, some w&elevators, some not), and personally this unit is overpriced for the less than stellar comfort points. The tub had a 2" gap between the floor where you could SEE THE SUBFLOORING. I thought for sure the neighbors below us was going to get water dripping down every time I took a shower. The shower curtain was the quality of saran wrap. The bed & living room furniture were so uncomfortable. This typically wouldn't be an issue but when you have cloudy, cold days and stuck inside-it's important. There was no communication on how to use the TV (which was NOT a smart TV), but my husband is good at figuring that out. It was on Day 2 that we finally found an HDMI cord so we could at least watch Netflix through MY laptop. Again, spend the $,get a smart TV. We have paid LESS money on other condos and had much better amenities. We're not chefs, but will buy fresh fish & cook while having cocktails and watching the sunset (no restaurant can give you the view we had), but the knives were dull, the well-stocked kitchen is referring to plenty of plates/glasses. There were no cleaning supplies, so we used Windex to clean up after (fishy) meals. Typically condos will leave 2 extra rolls of TP and 2-3 laundry pods and ask that you start a load of towels. There were none of that for us, just 2 rolls of very cheap TP. When we called the realtor they stated it was a "SELF CATERING" d/t the pandemic (I guess), but again, no communication about that. At the price we paid, they should provide 4 rolls of TP. So back to the store we went. The dust on the lamps were thick & apparently not dusted for weeks. Overall, disappointed and less than impressed.
