Pet Friendly and with a private pool!

Welcome to the Seashell Cottage! This single-story 2,200 square foot East Beach cottage is only 5 houses from the 12th Street East Beach access. This family friendly home has all of the amenities you could want: A lovely open floor plan with family room, comfy sun room, screened porch, dining for 10, Pool with spacious pool deck, grilling area, and privacy fencing. The airy master suite has a king bed, direct access to the screened porch for morning coffee and a large walk-in closet (great for the pack-n-play at the house). The guest suite has another king bed and looks onto the courtyard. The large third bedroom sleeps 6 with with two sets of bunk beds and trundles. A full bath rounds out this sleeping area. There are flat screen TV's with HD TV in each bedroom and the family room and DVD player in the living room. Videos, books, cable, WiFi internet service, and games make this cottage feel like home. The fully equipped kitchen with newer appliances adds to the charm and homeyness.

The cottage is located 4 blocks from Goulds Inlet and, for all of you kayakers and crabbers, and a few blocks from Bloody Marsh creek. We're about a mile from the Crab Trap and Crab Daddys and about 2 miles up the beach from the SSI lighthouse and pier area, which is packed with more great seafood restaurants, quaint shops, large public pool and mini-golf.

Don't forget to bring the pups! This property is pet friendly and will accommodate up to 2 dogs, for an additional pet fee of $150.
Any group gatherings and events at this property are limited to the number of occupants (10 persons). Events such as weddings, rehearsal dinners, etc. are not permitted.

Great week in St. Simon's

We haven't been to St. Simon's in many years so it was nice to go and to stay in a home in the East Beach section of the island. The house was clean, had great space to hang out (we had 7 people), was well-located. The beach access is very close. The actual walk to the beach takes a few minutes b/c of the dept of the dunes, which is wonderful to see. It was so nice to have the pool. We would absolutely stay here again! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Needs Updating

Like some have mentioned: this place has seen better days. Interior needs updating as does the landscaping. There is a small area of concrete missing from the driveway as well. Pool is a nice asset, but small. With that said, it is in a great neighborhood and close to the inlet. Overall it was a good stay, but it probably isn't worth the money; we wouldn't go back.

Family trip

Location was great. The home is older but inside was good size to accomodate 10 people if you have teenagers and 4 parents. It was clean. Baths could use updating but were clean. Pool wasnt clean but maintance came to check it out on a Sunday after we called. It was cleaner after he reset timer. I think it may need new vacum but i'm no expert. Had all dishes and towels u need. Priced good for home.

St Simons Weekend

We enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and in a good location. A few things needed fixing, like the dryer and backyard lights. We called and Joe with Hodnett was very helpful and responsive. I was surprised at the lack of simple amenities. Meaning only one tiny bar of soap in each bathroom and that’s all. Not one additional garbage bag or a few pods for laundry. I realize those are not necessarily included but I have stayed in many VRBO homes and they have always been included. Overall great stay!

Great East Beach location

Pedestrian friendly neighborhood. Easy walk to the beach. Located near great restaurants and shopping. Nice Screenroom, Backyard and Pool. Overall we had a great stay. The house layout is a little odd and the lighting is not great. Couldn't figure out the lights aroundbthe pool. One suggestion: include the yard & pool maintenance schedule in the app. Especially important for those with traveling with Pets. Might be helpful to note the sprinkler timing as well as that was a bit of a shock the 1st day.

Great Beach House!

My family and I had a great time. This place was a good setup for our combination of adults and kids. The 3.5 year old loved the bunk beds and the master has a large walk in closet that worked great for a pack-n-play. The pool was really nice to have as an option to the beach.

Great location, perfect pool

This house was everything we wanted. Perfect size for me any extended family. Super close to the beach. Perfect sized pool, no too big, not too deep. Kitchen is definitely a little removed, but for our early morning crew, morning coffee didn't wake anyone. Will definitely return.

Nice cottage on East Beach

Nice property and great proximity to beach! Rental was confusing because it’s really Hodnett Cooper. Better to book through them directly because of fees. Also, check in very rigid so don’t arrive early hoping to get in sooner. Yard had some poison oak, and bushes needed trimming. Pool is small but great for what we needed. Leak in pool causing water to drop below pump level. Would recommend a key pad entry. If walking to beach with stuff would recommend going down to Gould’s inlet. Getting through dunes with cart is tough. Water pressure was excellent! Great for pets and kids!

Lovely beach house

This property is super comfortable with a very pleasant beach vibe - just the right tone for a relaxing time. The neighborhood is awesome and one short block from beach access. The mattresses are very comfortable! And Hodnett Cooper, the property manager, was so helpful when we accidentally left something valuable behind. I highly recommend both Hodnett Cooper, this neighborhood, and this house.

Beach Getaway

This was our first visit to this property and the neighborhood. A really relaxing place with room to spread out. We used every room and the pool area. The house was very clean with comfortable linens. We received lots of communication leading up to the stay and had no issues with check in or check out.

Quant Beach House

Cute rental. Lots of entertaining space. Short walk from beach. Excellent community. We were a bit worried when we arrived. Front curb appeal not the best compared to neighbors but inside made up for it. It was nice. I wished their was a newer coffee maker and they left a few other essentials (paper towels and trash bags).

SSI East Beach, great location!

Super location, very close walking distance to beach. The house was older but well kept and great for our needs, especially because it was dog friendly! No window coverings in the main living/dining space which was a little uncomfortable, and the pool was much smaller than how it appears in the picture, but again, the quiet location of this home to the beach makes up for any negatives! Thanks for a nice stay in SSI!

Fantastic house and location

This house is cozy and beautiful. The location to the beach was amazing and to the shops at SSI. We loved having the pool and used it every day. The only thing we would say was a negative are the beds. They are very hard and uncomfortable so some consideration should be given to replacing them soon. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home.

graceful, functional, a pleasure for my family and me

My son said, "Wow, the place is great!" when he came for a few days with his wife and babies. Furnishings are tasteful and functional. All the living spaces are well-proportioned and comfortable. My only gripe is the kitchen lacks a few items: tea kettle, sharp knife. A plus: cottage comes with two bicycles and multiple beach chairs and playthings. I would definitely rent again.

Wonderful Week at the Sea Shell Cottage

This house has a fabulous location. There are three beach accesses within walking distance and it's within walking distance to the inlet, which has great fishing and gorgeous summer sunsets. Even if walking the approx. three blocks to the beach isn't doable for everyone, each of the beach accesses have parking spots, so it is possible to drive to the beach from the house. East beach is broad and it isn't covered in water at high tide; the waves and the grade are gentle, making it ideal for young swimmers. The beauty of the flora and fauna can't be overstated; St. Simons and East Beach, in particular, are stunning. The Sea Shell Cottage is an ideal beach house. It has all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay at the beach. The pool is great for a change-of-pace from the ocean too. We loved the floorplan: the bunk room and another bedroom connect through a shared bathroom (great for parents with younger children) and the master suite is more private at the back of the house. Beth and Adam are extremely responsive and made sure that we were well taken care of, even though all of our needs were already met. Overall, we had a fantastic stay at SSI, and the Sea Shell Cottage was one of the main reasons our trip was so fulfilling. We would definitely stay here again!
