Nice quite oasis

This was the perfect place to stay for me and my family. It was peaceful and quite. The scenery was beautiful. The host was very accommodating and welcoming. St. Thomas is a relatively small island so access to everything was pretty convenient.

Fabulous Views and Wonderful Island Hospitality

The journey to this most incredible B&B, The Dancing Orchid, will take your breath away as you gaze upon the beautiful Megans Bay located on the North side of St.. Thomas. On the final decent down the hill, the city hustle and bustle will become a distant past and you will begin your transformation to "island life". Mary and Sophie are very gracious hosts and her scramble eggs and hot cup of coffee, overlooking the bay, with surf & waves and an ocean breeze are a most wonderful way to start the day. If available, don't pass up the opportunity for this first class experience.

amazing bed and breakfast!

We loved staying with Mary at her bed-and-breakfast resort! it is such a beautiful place in the hills with an amazing view! We loved walking out our sliding glass doors onto our balcony and gazing at the ocean and skies😍it was pure paradise! We were so grateful each morning to have a fridge full of healthy, delicious things to eat and cook provided by Mary. And the bread she always makes for her guests was our favorite! Her place is clean, spacious, quiet, and beautifully decorated and designed. We are already planning when we can come back and stay with Mary! She was such a pleasure to have as a hostess.

Great hostess, terrific accommodations, stunning view

Mary was a superb and charming hostess and went out of her way to make feel welcome and help us find our way around. Her dog Sophie was delightful as well. Dancing Orchids is a wonderful place to stay with a superb view of Magens Bay and good restaurants just a short drive away. You will need a car to get around the island and, as the road down to Dancing Orchids can be a little rough in places, it should have decent clearance. You don’t need a Jeep or four/wheel drive vehicle. Driving on the left is easy to get used to but remember that traffic signs are on the left side of the road as well. I can’t count the number of stop signs I missed because I was looking for them on the right side of the road. Once you know the way getting to Charlotte Amalie or Red Hook are easy drives. On our first night, Mary led us to Sib’s on the Mountain, a local bar with good food about a 10 minute drive away. Highly recommended. All in all Mary and Dancing Orchids made our stay a memorable one and we’re looking forward to returning in 2023.

Breathtaking!

My wife and I have stayed in several places in St Thomas (including resorts), and we both agree that this was by far our favorite. It's located on the "other side" of the island, quieter and more peaceful. It's quite a ways up the mountain and might be a bit difficult to find at first (search for the dancing orchid on Google maps). A car is a must, and you will be wise to get a Jeep, though we made it in a small sedan (it made the driver lots harder). The view from the mountains is incredible. We were lucky and were the only guests, so we had the whole floor to ourselves. Our room was very spacious (with plenty of storage) with a beautiful four-poster bed and direct access to a large porch (shared with the second room). The Spanish architecture really made it stand out. Mary was a wonderful hostess. She kept a really clean house and was helpful throughout our stay. Overall, if you don't mind not being on the tourist side of the island (though it's not a long drive away by any means) and enjoy beautiful views, Mary's place is by far the best bang for your buck! We highly recommend it.

Outstanding stay

My wife, myself and my son stay at Mary’s villa for a 5-day getaway and we are beyond satisfied with our stay. Mary was a great host and extremely knowledgeable of the island giving good information, suggestions and not too forget her tasty breakfast especially the bread we will definitely be back.

I loved the view

The host was super friendly, inviting, and gave lots of information . The place is beautiful the roads are super rocky and a tad bit scary initially. You need a rental, taxi’s won’t go out there. The locals are friendly though.

Perfect Anniversary Getaway

My husband and I chose to stay here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The property is beautiful and well kept. Mary is an awesome host and we would most definitely stay here again. She also makes really good bread! She checked in with us periodically throughout our stay to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and she also gave us recommendations of places to check out on the island. The north side of the island is quiet and peaceful and away from the touristy areas. This was the perfect place for us to stay and we will definitely be back again!

Excellent lodging and hosting

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was sparkling clean, and as described. My favorite feature was the lanai which allowed us to enjoy the trade winds and breathtaking views.

Amazing stay

From meeting the owner and property from the beginning of our stay until our very last day was AMAZING. The owner was unremarkably nice to us and the views from all over the house was AMAZING. I recommend this place to anyone visiting this area.

An amazing experience @ dancing orchid villa

My wife & I stayed seven days @ dancing orchid. Mary is an amazing host with great knowledge of the island. The rooms are very large, & king size bed comfortable. The view of Megans bay is stunning, & being out on the point offers a sense of seclusion that my wife & I truly enjoy. You should definitely rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle to enjoy this location. There is a shared bathroom downstairs for the 2 rooms, making this villa an ideal spot for 2 couples traveling together. We had a great vacation here, & would recommend it to any adventurous folks looking to experience an authentic, non resort style stay in st Thomas

Perfection in Paradise

The Dancing Orchid is a beautiful home, with a spectacular view. The bedrooms and bathrooms are both large, modern and well done. The house is immaculate. Mary is an excellent host and offers a delicious breakfast to start your day. This is an excellent location, minutes from Hull Bay, Magens Bay and a short drive to town, yet quiet and secluded. I hope she has availability when I return, I would love to stay at the dancing Orchid again.

Beautiful place in a private setting... not going to find this anywhere else

We stayed at the Dancing Orchid for 6 nights. Very private and quiet location off the beaten path... away from the traffic and hustle of the city. Mary was a wonderful host who was always interested to offer ideas of local things to do. We liked the idea of “bed and breakfast” so we could wake at our own pace, get ready for the day, and have a nice breakfast prepared for us by our host before we headed out to explore. We did not want to search for someplace to have breakfast... being on the north side overlooking Magens Bay, we’d have to travel. A vehicle is a must... preferably a Jeep. Once you get use to where you are, it is very easy to explore the entire island ... which we did every day! We would definitely recommend this property... with all the conveniences of home. Mary did a great job with this property!
