Great hidden getaway

The pictures on the site didn't do the house justice. We loved the setup. There was 9 of us and we had enough room to hit get in each other's nerves. Great pool if you don't want to go to the beach. Beautiful sunsets from either balcony.

Private Estate

This property is all the way at the west end of the island and is very private. We enjoyed the quiet and privacy with the spectacular view of the water. The home is spacious and provided great space for us 5 adults. The trip to town is 20-25 minutes over a couple of mountains. The trip to Red Hook and the beaches on the other side of the island is around 45 minutes as long as the traffic is moving.

The House was very clean and comfortable.pool was enjoyable we spent a lot of time in there rain or shine. this area is everything you would want for privacy, peace and serenity We Really Love Our time at Doug’s House. Wonderful Family Vacation

Stone’s Throw was the perfect home for our family vacation. The home was spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. Spectacular views, beautiful pool, and nice amenities. Located on the very private west end of St. Thomas, about 30 minutes from most tourist attractions. Host Doug and manager Rafael were very accommodating. Would definitely stay there again!

Other than distance from town the house and view was amazing, peaceful, very secluded and private, would recommend renting a car, taxis don’t like to go that far but will for a small fortune, so much nature and beauty to take in, excellent for large groups

Perfect Space for Learning!

Our Youth STEM Program spent a week in USVI assisting in coral restoration projects with UVI. Stone's Throw was the best space for learning and relaxing after a long, often challenging day working in the sun and below the sea. Everything was fantastic!

Beautiful and quiet!

Recently stayed here (my second visit) on a combined work/leisure visit. Absolutely loved it. We spent hours relaxing and chatting, watching the unbeatable sunsets, and enjoying the whales swimming by. The amazing view from the porch must be seen to be believed! The caretakes, Nicole and Peter, were absolutely fantastic, helping make sure we had everything we need and patiently answering questions about St. Thomas, the USVI, and life in the islands in general. Highly recommended -- I think next time we'll come back with the kids!

Had a wonderful week at Stone's Throw. Photos on line do no justice to this lovely property. Very well furnished. Very generous supply of towels and linens. Pool is beautiful. All outdoor areas have plenty of comfortable furniture. Days on the pool deck and evenings watching the sunsets from the veranda make it difficult to leave for dinner. Large home suitable for a group, but great for just the two of us. Car is a must but privacy makes it worth it. Peter & Nicole (property mangers) are on hand for problems or questions without ever intruding. Really nice people.

2023 Family Getaway

Family get together by the ocean. Always recharges our batteries. The house gave each of us privacy if needed yet the family time together could be spent at any level of this beautiful home. Two very minor issues with the property which Doug remedied in expeditious time. He was gracious and so quick to respond. The location was very private and secluded on this side of the island which we enjoyed. The views were beautiful and we loved watching the sunset from the patio. And being able to sleep with the windows open was icing on the cake. If we have the opportunity to come back we will certainly reach out to Doug.

Home away from home

Our 2nd experience staying at Villa Stone Throw. Just as relaxing and enjoyable as we remembered from our first visit. Our host was a delight and made us feel welcomed and at home. It's a great spot to relax, unwind and recharge. Drinking coffee on the deck at sunrise is an experience that cannot be duplicated anywhere else.

Stones Throw

The property was great, very spacious and well stocked with pretty much everything you need. It was like home away from home. The view was amazing and we appreciated the fans and ac units in the rooms. Doug was very accommodating and responsive to any requests or concerns we had. Enough parking for 3 cars. There were some pest control issues but other than that the stay was lovely. A suggestion would be to pave the road leading up to the home, if that’s within the owners control.

My husband and I rented this house with 3 other couples to celebrate our new marriage and we had an amazing time! The house is beautiful. 8 adults stayed here and we never felt crowded. The house is beautiful and the views are even better! Doug was an excellent host! Would definitely recommend.

My family and I enjoyed our relaxing stay at stones throw. The beds were very comfortable. Doug is a good communicator if you need anything. Cooking meals was our main source of meals and the kitchen had everything we needed.

We had a great time staying at Villa Stones Throw/Estate Fortuna. The views are incredible and we spent a lot of time on what we called the “lower terrace” by the pool. There’s plenty of space to spread out, we were a group of 5 adults and we each got our own room. For anyone planning a first time trip to St Thomas this property is pretty far from town or other excursions so definitely plan on renting a car and driving quite a bit. Overall 10/10, the property is fantastic and Doug was wonderful. We didn’t want to leave :)

Amazing place to stay!

This place is everything you want in a rental property. It's quiet, serene, and secluded. And the view simply gets better the more you look! There are enough rooms for a large group to be very comfortable and to each have thier own space when space is needed. Even sitting down by the pool everyone has room to stretch out. Maybe you'll get to see the iguana that hangs out there sometimes! The owner is accomodating and very easy to get along with. They keep the house clean and very well maintained and everything you need is there except your food. This place has become one of our favorite places we've stayed in and it was very hard to leave on our last day!

Wonderful Stay at Stones Throw

We had a wonderful time at Stones Throw. The view was amazing and the house was perfect for our family. It was clean, spacious, and the decks were great! Doug was so accommodating and communicated quickly. We had a rental car to get around the island. We packed our lunch in a cooler from the house and enjoyed beaches, fishing, snorkeling, etc. Each morning we loved sitting outside with a coffee and with an awesome view of the sea. The pool deck was perfect for us (And beautifully lit up at night). We sat out at the pool whenever we were home. Magen's Bay is gorgeous and we really enjoyed being at that beach. We also loved the day we spent at Sandy Beach at Botany Bay which is right close to the house. You have to park outside the gated community, sign in, and walk the concrete road to the beach (1+ miles) and be prepared for hills (we did learn that they send a shuttle at 8:30, 12:30, and 4, so plan accordingly if you need a ride). The beach was beautiful and only a couple others were there. We are all so glad we spent the week at Stones Throw in St Thomas!

Priceless View with all the Comforts of Home!

Estate Fortuna / Stone's Throw was perfect for our group - 3 families, 6 adults and 3 teenagers. Each family had their own floor and bathroom with all the comforts of home for our 10 day stay. We spent our days out exploring various beaches and our evenings grilling and playing games/cards out on the beautiful deck overlooking the water. Having a pool onsite was an added bonus that we definitely took advantage of. The property owner, Doug, was great to work with and was extremely responsive and helpful; he has everything you need to help make your trip more enjoyable, extra beach towels, coolers for going to the beach, games, the list goes on and on. Our group would definitely recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed!

Breathtaking Views

This property has breathtaking views. It is secluded and very relaxing. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend. If you’re looking to be downtown this is a bit of a drive but to us it was worth it. Property manager was easy to contact and helpful. Thank you!!
