Great Family Vacation

The place had everything we needed, very secure and is very close to Magens Bay beach - probably the best beach on the island. It is necessary to have a car however and driving on the left side could be a challenge. Wainwright was very responsive and made sure our stay was pleasant and comfortable.

Loved our Stay!

We have visited St. Thomas multiple times, but this was our first time using accommodations through VRBO. Our group of 5 stayed a full week in August 2021 at the Estate Charlotte Amalie. The 2nd floor flat is well furnished and spacious with a lot of natural light on the ocean facing side. It’s a pleasant place to relax after a long day lounging on the beach. The 3 bedrooms are comfortable, each with their own private bathrooms. The villa is built into a hill and one of the rooms and the kitchen face the hill. Although the light on this side is lost, we found it incredible to have part of the rocks built into the décor of the bedroom and bathroom! You will need a car to traverse the rolling hills to get to the villa and to Megan’s Bay. But the view from the 2nd floor and the beach at Megan’s Bay are both worth it. The hosts Wainwright and his wife were superb! They were both extremely hospitable and friendly. Overall, we had an amazing stay at this VRBO location, and we’d go back in a heartbeat!

the property is comfortable with all necessary amenities. The owners are very kind, friendly and attentive. Having a generator was a huge help during power outages. We had two power outages over a week period. It would be useful to have box of matches, flashlights and candles in the property as a back up when power goes out. overrall, we would recommend the property very much.

Just okay- major insect problem

Arriving to the home we thought we were at the wrong home as it looks very ran down from the photo shown on this site ( photo on site must have been when house was just built). Once we got inside the place looks like the pictures for the most part, home could use some touch ups for sure. The home had a bad insect problem we seen a few spiders ( one during our first walk thru with the owner in kitchen), lots of termites and ants on more then a few occasions. We took videos and pictures to show the owner and they were very attentive when notified. Sheets had stains on them and hot tub was broken in master suite. Home owner lives on first floor which was convenient considering the multiple times we had to call about bugs.

Family trip

Overall positive stay with my family at this home. There were 8 of us ranging from 6 to 70. Good amount of space and 3 bathrooms was nice. The host was very nice and we were able to work through requests with him. Central location was good for getting around the island, definitely need a car.
