Springfield Steiger Park Hotels

"To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my deep disappointment with my recent stay at the La Quinta hotel in Springfield, Massachusetts. I have stayed at many La Quinta locations across the United States and have always had positive experiences, which makes this situation especially upsetting. This was, unfortunately, the worst experience I have had, and certainly not worth the $153.00 I paid. Although the hotel is advertised as smoke-free, the smell of marijuana in the elevators and throughout the sixth floor was overwhelming and unacceptable. I was traveling with my two granddaughters, ages 15 months and 13 years, and the environment did not feel safe or appropriate for them. Additionally, the room itself was extremely uncomfortable. The mattress felt as though it had a sunken hole in the middle, making it very difficult to sleep, and the pillows were unusually small and flat. Given the circumstances of my trip—my father is currently in critical condition at Baystate Hospital—I needed a clean, comfortable place to rest. Instead, I felt compelled to check out at 6:39 a.m. due to the poor conditions. I am asking that this hotel be reviewed and that these issues be addressed promptly. "Room and building upgraded and pretty but my headboard had telling handprints that was pretty gross to then go and sleep in the bed; had to wash off with washcloth vs heading down for new room; shower also had hairs on floor."

"Helpful staff and beautiful grounds. This hotel is our go to when we travel to the area. The rooms are clean, spacious, and even have an electric fireplace to warm up in the winter. Highly recommend. The adjoining restaurant is also nice. "

"Stayed there for one night, got a very nice room, it was clean, fresh, quiet, comfortable. Breakfast was very good also "

"The room itself was clean, seems like they’re doing renovations. One evening there were a couple men drinking and smoking on the back staircase. I was safe in my room but when I left my room it felt a little sketchy "

"The main reason we chose this hotel was for the hot tub. We got up early to sit in the hot tub before heading into our day, but the pool/hot tub area doesn't open until 9 am. Checkout is at 11 am. Why can't this room be opened at 7 am? When we addressed this with the morning desk clerk, she was not very nice or understanding. Some compassion training would be helpful. And finally, I reserved this room through Expedia, paying for it In advance. When I checked out, the clerk charged me AGAIN through the hotel. It was clearly stated in the reservation that the room was paid for. Attention to detail is lacking. While I was told the 2nd charge was reversed, it has not yet shown up in my bank. It's funny how withdrawals from bank accounts happen instantly, but refunds take days or weeks. Needless to say, I will not visit this franchise of hotels ever again. "
