「We had a really wonderful stay here whilst visiting Dover and to celebrate a birthday & anniversary. Our room was superb, staff were friendly & helpful, and dinner & breakfast were exceptional. 」

「Breakfast selection was standard for a HI express. Unfortunately in this hotels case, all of the bread, and especially the bread rolls were too stale to have eaten. Eating in the restaurant in the evening was a very slow process. Over 45 minutes to receive any food. Some people waited over an hour. Room was not particularly clean, debris on the carpet, and a general feeling of rushed housekeeping. Found a child’s teddy bear under the bed, and the staff couldn’t have seemed less bothered....

「A beautiful hotel with an amazing room. I stayed in the Junior Master Suite and me and the wife were blown away. The bathtub is a great addition and the room is quite big with a sofa and 4-poster bed. It was honestly an amazing stay and we will definitely come back for another staycation.」

「Breakfast was great. Hot, served fast and flexible. The staff in the restaurant were great. Compliments to the chef. The only thing we found was a difficulty with the television. You had to stand right in front of it and hold the 'on button for about 30 seconds before it would come on. Also, it was difficult to change channels, especially getting to number 1. It wiould have been nice to have instructions if that is normal and a list of channels available. 」

「The Royal Hotel is an old building. However the staff were extremely helpful and the food at Dinner and at Breakfast was very tasty.」

「Overall it's good. The service is excellent, and the room is cosy. But there was only one drawback which we met a private party. Therefore, the spa, Sunna cannot used as much as we can.」

「Very nice staff, delicious breakfast. Had trouble finding plates, cups and glasses at breakfast but that’s because we were a bit late and they had a Christmas party of 130 going on! Bedroom was very nice but the mattress was too much hard for us. Good value overall.」
