“I should preface this review by saying I had the great good fortune to live in London in 1983. London has a very different, slightly down-at-the-heels look and smell for me that I LOVE. People give five ⭐️ reviews for different reasons. This is mine: the Parkwood has this wonderful feel for me. It is a very clean and exceptionally friendly place. The breakfast is lovely. “We were unpleasantly surprised when the host gave us the wrong location, but this was quickly corrected. The rented apartment wasn't maintained! I can't explain the positive feedback and high ratings. The photos accompanying the reservation make the apartment look brand new, but it's very neglected. There's a lot of deferred maintenance, and mold is prevalent in the bathroom and kitchen. Damp patches have been covered, among other things, and there's a pungent odor, which is unpleasant. “Staff was excellent. Great location and comfortable room. Only issue that is not their fault was I did not read that it did not have a check in desk. We got off a cruise ship and arrived at property around 9:30 am and it was all locked up no one around. About 10:30 we got lucky and employee arrived and allowed us to store the luggage inside so we could walk around the area. Again the staff was excellent it was my mistake not verifying their check in process. ”
