  • A cosy wood burner makes this Grade II listed cottage a great place to stay at any time of the year.. Ground Floor:

    Open plan living space.

    Living area: Freeview TV, DVD Player, Woodburner

    Dining area.

    Kitchen area: Electric Cooker, Microwave, Fridge (Small Freezer Compartment), Washing Machine

    First Floor:

    Bedroom 1: Double (4ft 6in) Bed

    Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds

    Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial fuel for wood burner included. Small enclosed garden with garden furniture. On road parking. No smoking.. Set on the edge of the popular seaside town of Swanage, this Grade II listed, terraced holiday cottage is traditionally furnished and has the bonus of a wood burner, making it a great place to stay whatever the time of year. Discover the beach 1 mile from the property, where you will also find shops, pubs and restaurants. An excellent base from which to explore the area, and visitors can enjoy the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline and Purbeck Hills. Monkey World, Swanage Steam Railway, Durlston Country Park and Tank Museum make for good family days out. Beach 1 mile. Shop 250 yards, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

Herston Rise is a great size cottage.

Herston Rise is a great size cottage. Beautiful bedrooms with lovely bedding. The shower had great power. I'm not whether it was due to the cottage being shut during lockdown but there was an unusual smell in the lounge. The kitchen was well equiped. Plenty of trays for the oven etc. It was listed as dog friendily, but on the morning we were due to arrive I had an email with a welcome pack which said dog were not allow up stairs this had not been mentioned before. Also the enclosed garden was actually access to the next door cottage. So when our dog was in the garden a person who I believed to be a gardener just wondered through. It was just a bit unexpected. Lovely patio area with table and chairs.Useful things like pegs etc. Provided. We were not allow into the until 5pm and we had to leave by 9am due to covid and we understood this. But considering the extra time for cleaning, I felt the were a few things were missed. The basics were fine but attention to detail was needed. Many positives with this cottage.
