Both my room and the shared spaces were nice and clean and tidy. Super helpful staff who knew a lot about the area! Amazing location - walking distance to everything you need. Very social atmosphere but also had my own space. Would definitely love to stay here again! They also have surfboards which they let you borrow for free which was amazing

Auberge catastrophique, ambiance froide

Je suis venue à Manly Bunkhouse pour démarrer mon séjour en Australie. Au départ, c'était une semaine puis je suis resté deux nuits de plus. J'ai prévenu l'hôtesse d'accueil de mon souhait de trouvé un appartement au moins cher en colocation ainsi le mardi de la deuxième semaine, je compte partir en lui laissant le compte des deux nuits. Elle a voulu que je lui règle un "préavis" de 265$ !!!!! Donc j'ai refusé et j'ai du payé deux nuits supplémentaires soit 148$ !!! Je n'avais jamais entendus parlé de préavis pour une auberge de jeunesse. Elle ne voulait pas me laisser partir sous peine d'appeler la police ! La salarié de l'accueil (vous en jugerez vous même si vous y passez) ne comprenais jamais ce qu'on lui disait. De plus, une fois, elle m'a sorti presque du lit le matin au réveil et ce soir là, à 22h sans me laisser le temps d'arriver ! Personne se dit bonjour dans l'auberge sauf quelques unes bien sûr, il y'avais vraiment une ambiance austère. Cet établissement portait un accueil chaleureux avant ce changement de propriétaire (de nombreuses connaissances me l'ont conseillées)... Je lui ai fais savoir que je comprenais que la saison est calme mais ça n'est pas aux voyageurs d'en payer le prix. Toutes les chambres étaient vides, il n'y avaient que 20-25 personnes, les soirs et matins, j'étais presque seule à chaque fois donc aucune réservation potentielle pour la chambre que j'occupais ! J'ai trouvé le contact froid, tourné vers le profit. Vraiment dommage.
