The 190-square-meter villa is located on the Maddalena Peninsula, 5 km from Syracuse and 5 minutes from the enchanting, protected waters of the Plemmirio-Punta della Mola-Punta del Pero Nature Reserve. The property is not only a strategic hub for travel to Sicily’s most beautiful Baroque cities or to the towns of Noto, Ragusa, and Ragusa Ibla in Modica—all of which are a half-hour drive away—but is also 50 km (about 1 hour) from Catania via the SR-ME highway and 70 km from the magnificent city of Taormina. The VILLA consists of “1 bedroom with a king-size bed plus a crib” + “another bedroom with a king-size bed” + “another bedroom with a single bed and an inflatable sofa bed” + “there is also a double sofa bed in the lounge !" (maximum capacity: 6 people + one toddler aged 0 to 2 years in a free crib) and a large 50-square-meter living room with huge windows, from which you can admire the entire Maddalena Peninsula and the coastline of the PLEMMIRIO Marine Protected Area. Adjacent to the panoramic living room is the original kitchen, fully equipped with everything a family needs. A charming coffee table, perfect for breakfast, offers a breathtaking “Alba dal Mare” view. From the living room, you’ll see the following layout: 1 bathroom with a shower (the main bathroom). Between the two large windows is the door leading to the veranda, which features a huge wooden table and a beach umbrella. With six comfortable chairs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner—whatever you prefer—the view of the sea and the swimming pool lets you enjoy the sun deck, which consists of four comfortable sun loungers. On the veranda, there is also an artistic water cascade with a sink from THE COLLECTION, which is home to very special and rare fish. The stars of these innovative Love Fish Ok! systems are the Garra Rufa, from the Cyprinidae family, also known by the synonym Kangal fish (the place where this practice began, in 1870).
Garra Rufa are freshwater fish native to Turkey, Iran, Syria, and the aquifers throughout the Middle East. I GARRA RUFA, THE FISH BEHIND LOVE FISH OK! These special minnows live in waters with high temperatures ranging from 30° to 36°, and therefore have a high metabolism, which makes them particularly lively and always active in our waterfall
They reach a maximum length of 7 cm, and their average natural lifespan is approximately 5–7 years if they are properly cared for and kept in conditions suited to their needs.
Our little “Love Fish Ok!” are the original and certified Garra Rufa, sourced from breeding and captive-rearing centers in specialized European facilities. They have been quarantined, isolated, and inspected by local health authorities before being safely introduced into our tank. Our “RUFA GARRA” are used for fish therapy, fish manicure, and fish pedicure treatments. Our Garra Rufa have no teeth, but rather protruding lips that secrete a specific enzyme, ditranol (diathanol), which is useful for treatments. for ichthyotherapy, for curative and aesthetic fish manicures and pedicures, to halt cell division, to toughen the skin—i.e., by exfoliating the cuticles—through very gentle micro-pulsations (several hundred per minute, hence “Love Fish Ok!”). Absolutely painless, with very pleasant effects, such as micro-massage pulsations that also stimulate a regenerative anti-stress effect, making the skin incredibly soft, healthy, smooth, and shiny—but in a completely natural way. We turn our attention back to our minnows in the lounge, and to our amazement, we realize that the enormous temperature difference between the outside and the inside of the villa—due to the scorching heat of our country (SICILIAN)—makes it clear just how close Africa is. From the cool living room, we head down the stairs that lead us to the garden. The intense brightness of the green lawn captivates our eyes. As we step out into the garden, we’re captivated by the sight of a massive pool with a huge waterfall—a fountain emerging from the rocks, surrounded by a profusion of water lilies and papyrus. As we approach the pool, we’re surprised to see a swarm of tropical fish of every color delighting our children. Angelo & Marilena invite them to feed the fish; with a burst of water, the fish leap for joy from all sides: We leave the fish in peace in the pond and notice a beautiful wood-fired oven nearby, which Angelo & Marilena promise to use together with us
