Charming 100 m2 duplex apartment including a beautiful flowered terrace of 25 m2, in the heart of the Ortigia peninsula, historic center of Syracuse, 5 minutes 'walk from Piazza dell' Duomo and the seaside.
The apartment is located in the della Giudecca district, historically the Hebrew district of Ortigia.

It is a large, very bright duplex located on the 2nd floor with a nice high ceiling..

- The first level consists of a large fully equipped kitchen-bar, a living room overlooking the street with a flowered balcony, a nicely furnished bedroom, a bathroom with walk-in shower and WC . On the floor, old ceramics.

- On the second level: refined attic room, office, overlooking a beautifully flowered terrace of 25 m2 and overlooking the picturesque roofs of Via della Giudecca. You can admire the sunset. Eat there and sunbathe. On the other side of the room, bathtub embedded under a vasistas which opens onto a sea side view. Optimal equipment: small dishwasher, fridge and washing machine. Stereo with CD.

The whole is furnished with taste and refinement with touches of design and art.

• bedroom, double exposure, 2 glass doors on the terrace side and window on the sea side, with sunken bathtub and sink, equipped with washing machine, small fridge, small dishwasher, stereo
• office area leading directly onto the terrace
 
-The 25 m2 terrace has a dining area with parasol where you can eat there with delicacies from March to December and sometimes more, and a lazy corner with deckchairs. It is decorated with green plants and flowers.

Melinas Haus ist ein wunderbarer Ort, inmitten der belebten Gassen Ortigias bietet dieser Ort trotzdem Ruhe. Wir lieben die Dachterrasse mit Blick auf die vielen Pflanzen, auf Sonnenuntergang und Sternenhimmel. Wir hatten traumschönes Wetter und haben stets draußen gegessen. Aus dem anderen Fenster des Schlafzimmers sieht man auf Palmen und die aufgehende Sonne. Die Küche ist hübsch und besonders, das Wohnzimmer mit dem wunderschönen Steinboden gemütlich und liebevoll gestaltet.Wer absolute Funktionalität erwartet, für den ist diese Unterkunft vielleicht nicht das richtige. Wer sich an Seltenem, Gesammelten, Kunst und Vorhängen aller Art erfreuen kann, für den ist dieser Ort ein Traum. Man hätte mit der Person, die hier lebt, gerne einmal ein Glas Wein getrunken. Alle Geräte funktionieren einwandfrei. Um die Dachterrasse stressfrei wässern zu können, gibt es einen Schlauch.An die Glastreppe gewöhnt man sich. Während wir uns am Anfang verängstigt ans Geländer klammerten, liefen wir sie am Ende wie kleine Gazellen rauf und runter. Apropos klein: wir sind sehr große Menschen, und haben uns im oberen Raum ab und an die Rübe gestoßen.Apropos Treppe: mit sehr kleinen Kindern wäre ich wohl ein wenig besorgt gewesen, aber unsere 18 jährige erklomm diese auch nach einem Glas Wein trittsicher.Der Kontakt zu Melina und Viviana war bei Fragen und Problemen aller Art eine Freude.Habt Dank für alles!PS: Parksituation schwierig, vorher googeln. Geschäfte um die Ecke.

Perfection in Ortigia

We stayed in Ortigia for the month of April. The apartment on Via Della Giudecca is in an ideal location - on the most delightful block, close to everything but quiet and very much a family street. The apartment is absolutely charming, with a view over rooftops to the mediterranean, and a lovely terrace large enough for dining and sunning. The host made sure we were warmly greeted (even though we were 8 hours late) and provided all the information we needed to settle in. It is perfect for a couple, would be tight with more than two people. We would stay again in a heartbeat! Grazie to our host!

Beautiful Ortigia

Wonderful location, lovely roof terrace. Comfy bed. Well equipped kitchen. However, the second bedroom does not have a door so limited privacy. The property is full of the owner's belongings and is very cluttered making it difficult to find storage space for our own things. The shower is not in a cubicle so the whole bathroom (and beyond) gets very wet and dangerously slippy.

Our stay in Ortigia

The property is very central. The apartment is very quirky with lots of art. We ate out so didn’t use kitchen really but it looked well equipped. Although it didn’t bother us this apartment may not be very good for the elderly as a lot of stairs. Overall we really enjoyed this apartment and loved Ortigia.

Great property in the best part of Ortigia

This apartment is full of character and in a very attractive part of the old Jewish quarter, close to local shops and very handy for exploring Ortigia. Perhaps the best single thing about the property is the sun terrace - blissful! Highly recommended.

Charming with wonderful terrace

Communications and checking were excellent! Location excellent on a charming street with everything you need a few steps away including the famous puppet theater! And everything you want to see in this tiny Island in easy walking distance. The apartment is homey and comfortable, fully equipped. The upstairs bedroom has a sloped ceiling and beams which make it difficult to stand in the low places—the occasional head bump. Water system and plumbing worked well. Bathroom is a wet room with integrated shower, no problems. Clean and comfortable! Thank you Melina and Viviana for a sweet stay in Ortigia.

Wonderful holiday, very generous accommodation but does need air conditioning!

The apartment is superbly located a short walk from Syracuse Cathedral, all the restaurants & shops on the island of Ortigia plus a good range of small supermarkets practically next door. The large, superbly equipped apartment is on the second floor with an internal glass staircase to the 2nd bedroom & sunny terrace -though the staircase has only one handrail so possible not for the nervous or suitable for children. The main drawback is the lack of air conditioning; we were there in September with temperatures in the mid to high 80s and we had to use the fan all night in the bedroom.

Attention ! Nous avons tenté un séjour que nous savions sans climatisation avec seulement 2 ventilateurs nous avons pu prendre les températures dans les chambres ( respectivement 35 et 39 degrés dans la chambre sous les combles )les 10 premiers jours du mois d'août.. Impossible donc d'envisager un séjour reposant en Sicile en plein été dans un logement non climatisé L'appartement est beau et lumineux dans un très bon quartier d'Ortigia ... Bémol également pour le périlleux escalier en verre aux bords contondants et au réfrigérateur de la taille d'un minibar la terrasse est également très bien aménagée et très agréable si vous acceptez la contrainte de devoir arroser les plantes tous les matins/ou soirs .car telles sont les conditions du propriétaire

Appartement tres bien situé.

Dans l'ensemble l'endroit est tout a fait convenable et fonctionnel mais aurait peut-etre avantage a etre un peu dépersonnalisé. Ceci dans le but d'avoir un peu plus d,espace pour mettre nos effets personnels. La terrasse est belle mais un peu trop de fleurs en pots...ce qui minimise l'espace.Pour le reste tout est adéquat. L'hotesse est accueillante et donne toutes les informations utiles pour un séjour dans ce lieu de rêve.... Nous gardons de beaux souvenirs d'Ortigia

Zum Heimischfühlen, aber nicht ganz ungefährlich

Eine sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtete Wohung auf zwei Etagen. Leider ist wenig Platz für den Gast zur Ablage seine mitgebrachten Kleidung und sonstigen Utensilien. Es ist eben eine meist wohl von der Besitzerin selbst bewohnte, sehr hüsch trapierte, aber für die Vermietung etwas zu volle Wohnung. Die Lage in einer wunderbar abwechslungsreichen Straße ist sehr gut, sehr nah zum Domplatz. Durchaus ein Ort zum Wiederkehren. Leider ist die Glastreppe in den ersten Stock nicht ganz ungefährlich. Bei uns gab es einen Sturz.

Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr persönlich eingerichtet und es gab sogar im Kühlschrank Schinken

Schöne Wohnung, aber nur für Menschen, die keine Angst vor Glastreppen habebn. sprich kleine Kinder, dass geht nicht in dieser Wohnung. Die Eingangstür müsste mit Gitter, was nicht funktionierte, gesichert werden können. Die nachbarn haben dies alle.Sehr ruhig dort und leider hat mann aber Nachts manchmal den Gerucch der Erdölraffinerie gerochen. Der Ort ist sehr nett und lebendig im Frühjahr ist es aber zu kalt zum baden.
