"Winderful, and very helpful staff. Old, but charming property not in the best neighborhood of San José. Some amenities missing and difficult to provide to guests due to property's age. Not able to use the pool, gym, covered entertainment veranda, but were a nice addition."

"The hotel is very clean and the pool area and gardens are immaculate, food was quite good and priced reasonably. The hotel bathroom's while clean does look alittle dated , and the friendliness of the staff was mixed.....natalie was exceptional in the main restaurant and many of the service staff were friendly and helpful......however a few were not , and seemed actively disrespectful. So overall i have mixed feelings about this hotel "

"When I checked in, I was advised not to walk outside alone after dark. It is just too dangerous., The glass doors going into the lobby were locked in the evening and early morning. After two days into a six day stay, I found that I was missing $400 in US Dollars and Costa Rican Colones from my room safe. I spoke to the hotel and casino manager and his security chief. The manager said that was just not possible. He said this never happened before. I disagreed with him as once I notices cash missing from my safe, I saw on the internet, other instances of theft from room safes at the hotel. The manager said they would check the security cameras on the floor and let me know if they revealed anything unusual.. He did offer to give me a room on another floor. They said there was no other safe where I could keep my valuables in the hotel or the casino. I found it necessary to carry all my cash and credit cards on all my tours the next three days. I never heard from the manager again."

"Right at the check-in, I was told there's no reservation under my name so I had to pay again (will have to dispute double payment), no air conditioner, moldy room, bathroom not so clean with no towel racks, smelly bed linen, pillow case with blood stain, noise road by the room, no lobby area or common kitchen facilities--it doesn't look like the pictures show. Location was okay and the staff (Joaquim) was very friendly."
