Another great stay

This was our fourth stay at the A-frame on the island. As in all previous stays, the host was great and everything was easy. We really love the house and the location; a 10 min walk down to the south ferry and great views of the water and the Tacoma shore line. From the back deck we saw a pair of eagles up in a nearby tree, porpoises and seals in the water below us, and in the back yard, several adult and baby deers. We'll be back.

Paradise, tranquility, natural splendor

This was a superb getaway, just what we had hoped for- the A-frame is secluded enough to provide privacy and tranquility, with spectacular views of Mt. Rainier & the Salish Sea. The deck provides a rustic vantage and beautiful opportunities to relax, the hot tub is a perfect compliment to the amenities, the A-frame interior is spacious and comfortable, and it was easy to arrive, stay & check out. It was so delightful that we hope to visit again someday!

Picture perfect..

What a wonderful time we had. Although we didn't have a ton of time to spend at the house, we enjoyed ever minute. The views from the deck were amazing! If you are taking the ferry from Tacoma you couldn't get a shorter ride to the house.

Great Getaway

A very quiet street with a beautiful view of the Tacoma side and even Mount Rainier if it’s not cloudy. We really enjoyed our stay. It was very peaceful and very quiet. The house is small but set up very nicely. It’s an older home so some things are in a bit of disrepair, but we didn’t mind that at all. The hot tub was amazing and the deck is where we spent most of our time. We even got to see some orcas one night From the beach right in front of the house. Can’t wait to come back again sometime.

Another great stay on Vashon

My partner and I stayed at this Vashon A-frame for a little more than 3 weeks. It was our third visit in three years, and we have already made a reservation for next year. The location of the house, on the southern end of the island, offers great views, plenty of sightings of seals, sea lions, dolphin, orca whales (2 sightings during this trip), eagles, and of course plenty of deer. The house is easily walkable to the south ferry terminal, and a short drive from some great trails. The host, Annette, is simply wonderful to work with, and the house is clean and well equipped. What can I say, we love it here!

Island Retreat

Perfect location to getaway Peace, quiet and nature. Beautiful A frame on the water with expansive deck. We spent hours watching ships and wildlife. Annette is a consummate hostess. Always available to respond to questions. The house was immaculate and fully stocked. We stayed for 10 days and wish it could have been a month.Highly recommend!

Spectacular water views and convenient location just a few minutes away from the ferry on the south end of Vashon. We enjoyed the quiet location and restful mornings making breakfast in the well appointed kitchen with views of the water and the PNW forest all around. The home is well furnished and lushly appointed with a range of potted lilies and jade plants that reminded us of our gardens back home in South Carolina. Our host was fantastic at communicating and provided easy to follow instructions for everything that we needed. We very much appreciated the touch of hygge during our visit to Vashon. Highly recommended!

Looking across the water towards Tacoma and watching the sailboats make the most of the gentle breeze while lounging on the deck.

The combination of blue skies and high clouds here on the deck is hard to beat on a beautiful day.

Great house and super location

My partner and I stayed at this island house for the second time, and loved it. The location is both inspirational and convenient, and the house has a great feel to it. Annette was super easy to work with and helpful. We have already made our reservation for next summer.

World's Fair A-Frame

It was a pleasure staying in a historical structure associated with the Seattle World's Fair. Add in the spectacular view, a lovely kitchen, and comfortable furnishings and it was a fine five days on Vashon. The deck furniture could use an upgrade, but that's a quibble. This is a very quiet location from which to enjoy Vashon.

Vashon water view

Nicely decorated, somewhat quirky modified a-frame with a great view south over puget sound. Very private. Access to a small beach via steep stairs, so not for those with mobility issues. Well-furnished kitchen, comfortable living room, nice bed in the main bedroom and a second 'day bed' up in the loft (handy if you sleep apart). Lots of color, thoughtfully decorated, huge deck. Southern. exposure so it can get hot in the summer. Hot tub outside which we didn't really use, but looks nice (we have chlorine allergies). Would definitely return.Only drawback is the TV which was cryptic at best. Sometimes it worked. sometimes not. Not sure what the issue is. We didn't watch TV much, but ended up using our laptop. Some detailed instructions would help. .

Fantastic Place

We had an amazing time at this house! The view alone makes it worth staying, but the house itself is charming. It’s got a feel like a family vacation home that has accumulated furniture, kitchenware, books, and games over time. It’s well-appointed with anything you could need available. The deck and hot tub are relaxing and private, the views are top notch, the bed was comfortable, and it was easy to get from the house to anywhere else. Annette was pleasant and easy to get in touch with. We recommended it to several friends at the wedding we were in town for, and we would for sure stay again!

Beautiful location and very comfortable

This is a lovely A-frame, with a large deck looking towards Tacoma and Mt. Ranier. The kitchen is very well equipped, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom is great. The living room has guidebooks with things to do on the island. We didn't use the hot tub, but it was on a slightly lower level than the deck and looked out over the water.

Hygge

The welcome mat captures the feel of this beautiful house perfectly, it is truly hygge, a cozy, comfortable and welcoming home that has everything needed for a blissful retreat into nature. Our family of four, including two teen boys, traveled to Vashon for a family wedding. We were delighted with the house, the location, the big deck, hot tub, beautiful view and comfortable indoor accommodations. We hope to stay again.

A house with a view

My partner and I stayed here for almost a month in the late spring/early summer. We totally enjoyed the house and its location. It is hard to complain about an unimpeded view of Mt. Rainier and Point Defiance. Also, can't complain about seeing sea lions and orcas from the back deck, and deer in the yard. Did I. mention the eagles flying overhead? The house itself is a really neat A frame with lots of privacy and a hot tub in the back. It is a 10 min walk to the south ferry terminal. Annette was great to work with. No complaints at all, everything is great. We have already reserved the house again for next year.

This was the perfect house for my Washington visit. It was clean and full stocked. The tub was wonderful and I LOVED the hot tub (and it's view). Annette was easy to communicate with. I want to bring my husband back for a weekend away from the kids.

TREASURE CHEST

First thoughts….Going through the front door it is way cuter and more clever than the pictures. A bit of history, the A frame section came from the 1962 Seattle World fair and was shipped to the property. A shed addition was added later for the kitchen and master bedroom. The furniture is “second house casual” with charming and sturdy vintage pieces thoughtfully placed throughout. The kitchen is very large and well equipped. This is huge for me, it has all the stuff you need COFFEE!….ICE…spices, baking pans, etc. and a touch I absolutely loved was a pair of reading glasses in the kitchen / utility drawer. Thought went into this with the owner Annette anticipating what a guest might need or want. Privacy abounds on the large deck that takes in the glorious views, far to the southeast is Commencement Bay, dead center a stand of trees, then it opens up again to the Rustin redevelopment and the glorious green of Point Defiance park. The online pictures accurately portray the view. The deck is worth the price of admission and there are 2 newer loungers and padded swivel chairs for the table with umbrella. A few steps down is the hot tub. The downstairs master bedroom is in the addition and is very comfortable and roomy with queen bed. Clever details and built in’s abound. Up stairs in the peak is a full bed, sitting area with its own deck with more amazing views. Mobility challenged individuals should always think twice about using the upper level as A frame stairs are usually narrow and somewhat step. The only bathroom in on the main floor but it is large and functional, with separate tub and shower. This isn’t a stripped down bare bones rental, it is a treasure chest of thoughtful and cool stuff and we had a relaxing and throughly enjoyable stay. Sent from my iPad
