“We arrived at around 2am on an Orange taxi from the airport (about 5-10 minutes and $10us) Taxi driver did not want to wait for us to be let inside. Rang the bell twice and after 1-2 minutes staff opened the door, greeted us and showed us the room. “I can’t recommend enough! We stayed in San Jose the night before our flight, after spending the week in Fortuna we weren’t sure what to expect. We booked a cheap stay, and it was fantastic! It was clean, safe, and comfortable! It’s inside a locked gate, with a safe place to park. It’s walking distance to plenty of food and shops. I can’t recommend enough! ”

“We flew in to San Jose around 12pm. We headed out of town towards La Fortuna. I thought this would get us out of the city and close to our first day of activities. The area was quiet. The room was very clean. We speak very little Spanish and the staff spoke very little English. However we were able to communicate to get what we needed. The hotel is one block from the Main Street. “Very impressed with this hostel! It didn’t even feel like a hostel since I had a private room. The gentlemen manning the reception area were all extremely pleasant and helpful. I love that they have a 24 hour reception desk and they’ll also store your luggage if you arrive early or have a late flight back out. They are located closer to the airport than San Jose, but there are a ton of shops and restaurants located within steps of the premises.
