Just 45 minutes from Hobart, Dunalley is a small town by the sea with a canal and swing bridge separating it from the Tasman Peninsula. Affected but also in a way spared from annihilation which could have befallen them in the disastrous fires that roared through the area in January 2013, Bangor Wine & Oyster Shed sits above the town, overlooking Bangor Vineyard, Blackman Bay, Marion Bay and Norfolk Bay where some of Australia's best oysters are grown. Now it is a stop on the way to or from Port Arthur or a retreat after work on Friday nights when it is open in summer until 9.00pm.
