Great little find!

Wonderful stopover on way to our Daughter’s wedding. Great host and hospitality. Fantastic Chinese restaurant and breakfast next morning. Definitely one to be recommended.

Great Location, with friendly and helpful staff

I stayed for two nights, the staff were really friendly and helpful, breakfast was lovely and the meal I had in the restaurant was very tasty - I would definitely recommend the Nags Head.

Nice hotel and owner

Rooms a little dated but what makes this hotel a gem is the friendliness of the owner and the quality of the food in the restaurant.

Was right near the polar express train and the is a lovely place. The food was nice and the owner was friendly and very nice. Would stay again, the food was also good.

The room was clean and well appointed. The service and food in the Chinese restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced. The locals in the bar were friendly and invited us to join in a quiz.Alice was a superb host.

Could do with extending the menu as not a lover of foreign food , but the stay was ok but the toilet seat was far to low and the floor boards creaked badly in the next door room , otherwise a good night sleep was had .

Nice pub in a quiet village location. Very friendly welcome. Great food (Chinese food menu). Our only issue was creaking floorboards, so we were aware of all the early risers in the morning.

A great stopover location!

Late arrival and early out but was still welcomed by Alice the owner. Breakfast was offered and even provided at an earlier time than normally given, for which I was very grateful. A great cooked breakfast kicked off my morning and soon I was on my way. This was a perfect location to break up a long North to South journey. Very pleasant indeed. Sad that I missed out on what looked like a super Chinese dining experience for an evening meal! And just a few mins of the A1M

Good value, clean and welcoming

I stayed in the family room which was large and spacious. Very clean with good size en-suite. Alice was so helpful and friendly. She takes the trouble to remember all guests by their first names. Free parking behind hotel. Peaceful, comfortable and would definitely stay here again. Cooked English breakfast was delicious!

A happy smiling welcome

On arrival was met by Alice, a bubbly character, full of energy and a welcoming smile. Took me to my room which was lovely and clean. Ate in the restaurant food was excellent. Staff very attentive. Food reasonably priced. Restaurant got busy very quickly a testament to the standard and care of all the staff. Now on my list of places to stay when in North Yorkshire.

We were made very welcome on arrival, but an extractor fan created lots of noise and vibration. We were moved to another room which was much better, but the vibration could be felt until the fan was turned off around 2215.

Alice who owns the property goes above and beyond what she needs to do she knows every guest by there 1st name had a meal in the Cantonese restaurant (which alice runs) on Friday and the food was 1st class breakfast there a choice a good choice all the staff are very friendly beds very comfortable and clean , showers nice and hot decor could do with a up date but to be honest I wasn’t there to look at the decor there was a group of 6 and we would definitely go back

This was perfect for a one night stay. At £78 per night I guess that’s a mid price range for pub accommodation. It was a lovely spacious, clean room. My only criticism would be that the whole accommodation area would benefit from from some redecoration as it looked a little tired.

Owner was very friendly and helpful. We had a chinese meal in the restaurant which was excellent too. We did have difficulties finding the property as satnav took us to another of the same name. Also the google map had a picture if a neighbouring house which i have notified that the address needs to be corrected also.
