「We stayed for one night as a stopover on the way North and were very happy that we picked this Inn. The room was quite basic but perfectly adequate for our needs and in line with the price point. We had an evening meal in the bar area which was very good with generous portions and we were served by a lovely young lady who was very friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was nothing short of excellent with good quality ingredients, perfectly prepared.」

「On entry to the property it was shabby and untidy but that was nothing compared to the room we were given. Room 5 is large with both a double and single bed. . Bed linen was clean. One throw over the single bed was stained as was one cushion and the half hanging curtains. There was dust on both the black headboards of the beds. Thick dust on the skirting boards. 「A lovely inn situated in a peaceful village but very handy for visiting the attractions within York and the North Yorkshire National park. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and our room was very clean and comfortable. We can recommend the food and drinks on offer in the air conditioned restaurant, both on the evening we stayed and for breakfast the following day. Top marks.」

「Basic clean room. Fine for people like me who just want a clean room with a shower to go exploring. Pretty noisy but I’m a heavy sleeper so wasn’t bothered. Nice folks, very helpful and responsive.」
