"5 minute walk to everything! Pools were fun for kids. Room was clean. Staff friendly. Only downside was you had to run the water for showers and baths for over 5 minutes before you had hot water. Will be back."

"The staff was very helpful upon check in and explained the $5/day parking charge (pretty standard in the city). They showed us where breakfast and the pool area and our room was. They also informed us that bears were in a very active phase and had safety recommendations for us and our car. Once inside our room we found it to be very clean and well equipped with a fridge, coffee pot, iron, and extra blanket. The beds were very comfortable and the hot water came on quickly for the shower. We don't eat many carbs for breakfast so we chowed down on the scrambled eggs which were the best we've had at any buffet and this was towards the end of breakfast hours. The only drawbacks were my pillow seemed a lumpy and the WiFi wasn't great. WE WILL DEFINITELY RETURN!!"

"Paid the extra for the river view balcony, and it did not disappoint. The decor is "vintage" and so a little outdated. Clean. Nice staff. The 4 stars was due to a few things; the size of the hotel does not work with two elevators. We were on the 8th floor and getting up and down on the elevator was a definite drag on our time. At one point we stopped on every floor on the way down, and several floors had no one there because people were giving up and taking the stairs. Try and get a lower floor. We think there is an extra elevator somewhere (the public ones are marked 2 & 3) so they should open up elevator 1 for their guests. In addition, the folks in the room next to us were using weed both in their room and the balcony and there was an on and off skunk smell throughout our stay that I was not loving. They also had a child screaming until midnight. One benefit of me being awake due to that was getting to watch police chase a bear from the parking lot across from us while watching from our balcony due to said child screaming. I would stay here again for the view, but not on the top floor."

"Location is beautiful and great spot for beautiful views of the Smokey mountains. Beds were comfortable. Space was comfortable. Hotel is aged and in terms of cleanliness was average. It is in the wilderness and bugs etc are to be expected on balcony. Hotel did warn of little bugs and to let them know. Pool is wonderful for kids. Bears in parking lots which was exciting to see but take their warnings about protecting your vehicle and be aware of surroundings. This was a highlight of our trip! I recommend this location."
