Beautiful small family run hotel with a king bed, strong AC and a nice balcony. It’s lovely and quiet but close to the park and town. The hosts are so lovely and they made us excellent dinner and breakfast
We stayed for one night for the Safari. The property is well maintained, clean and it is as described. The owner is very responsive, offer good service. We enjoyed the breakfast included in the reservation after the Safari. I would definitely recommend this place.
We had a great 1 night stay and did a safari also.
The hosts are a wonderful family , very accommodating and provided everything we needed.
I highly recommend staying at Mansala safari house and make sure you do a safari whilst there.
Clean and spacious room with AC. Very cozy place in general, nice balcony, beautiful garden. Extremely friendly and kind family! And great food (we had both dinner and breakfast). Highly recommend!
We stayed for two nights with Tiron and his family, who could not have done more to make us feel very well looked after. The house is located in a beautiful, peaceful location and we very much enjoyed the beautiful meals cooked for us. Highly recommend.
Our hosts were extremely friendly and attentive. We had an issue with the sink in our bathroom and Tiron came to fix it within minutes. We also dined an Mansala House after our safari, the food was fresh and delicious. Tiron also arranged our safari guide who was great.
What a beautiful location and home. The air conditioning was on in the room when I got there which felt amazing in the heat and the owner was extremely welcoming, kind, and helpful. He helped me book a safari tour right away and made me feel extremely comfortable. Outdoor rock shower was very cool and the breakfast was yummy. Would definitely come back!
A wonderful stay at Mansala, with very friendly and helpful hosts. We had a room with balcony and two double beds for us and our son. The owner was able to arrange our safari, taxi and trip to the Elephant Transit home. All very close by. Excellent communication. They organised some water for the early morning safari and breakfast on our return. Freshly cooked and plentiful breakfast. The family were generous with their hospitality
We had an amazing stay here. The room was lovely with an outdoor bathroom , a veranda and jungle views with toucans and wildlife in the garden area. The owner and his family were incredibly hospitable, we had juice and lovely cake on arrival, we requested our safari tour and this was organised immediately which we really enjoyed. a fantastic breakfast was served after we returned and then a car organised for our onward destination. Such a lovely experience and would definitely recommend a trip here. i did a lot of research before booking and this paid off.
We had a fantastic stay with Tiron and his family, very welcoming and authenticly friendly hosts. Tiron organised 2x safaris over our stay (4 hr PM and 6 hr AM), both of which were really fantastic, we had a private jeep and had amazing experiences with elephants, wild buffalo, crocodiles, deer, mongoose and a load of interesting birds.
Tiron was really attentive throughout our stay and always made sure we had bottles of water and was even up with packed lunches for our 5am safari start. We also ate dinner at the house both nights, cooked from scratch by the family - highly recommended!
Tiron and his family were wonderful hosts. It was lovely to be welcomed into their home so warmly. We didnt have to think about anything during our stay with them. Food was always freshly prepared and ready for us. Tiron organised our safari tour with Devinda who was an excellent guide and driver who seemed to find us all the animals, stopped and waited to let us watch for several minutes. We were often the only ones around. We loved that he was able to share facts and all types of details about what we saw. Excellent english as well.
Tiron also helped arrange our onward travel transfers. He was such a helpful and thoughtful host, thank you so much for your kindness!!
One of our favourite stays in Sri Lanka! Lovely family run accommodation in a quiet area. The family were so welcoming and it was such a pleasure getting to know them. The room was very spacious , clean , nicely decorated and very comfortable. We had dinner and had big portions of delicious , authentic , home cooked food. We also had a lovely traditional Sri Lankan breakfast there. They arranged our morning safari which was so memorable and we had a fantastic guide. We were even given water and iced coffee for the journey! It is excellent value for money and I would recommend this guest house to anyone.
I can’t say enough good things about Tiron and his family who run the Mansala Safari Guest House. They set us up with a great safari guide, and cooked up some delicious traditional Sri Lankan food. This stay is a great value for your money and I would highly recommend if you’re planning on visiting Uduwalawa.
Nice property. Quiet leafy location not far from town. Friendly owner and family. Clean sheets/linen and comfortable bed. Quiet a/c and adequate wifi. Excellent breakfast. Only thing lacking was desk/chair and TV in room. I would stay again - good value and convenient to Udawalawa National Park Safari jeeps.
5 star customer service by this hotel. Tiron informed us before we arrived that there was an issue with the room, so he took the liberty to book us an alternative hotel that turned out to be just as nice as his! Communication was easy with him via WhatsApp, allowing us to easily book a safari the very next morning with a very well spoken and knowledgeable driver/guide. 10/10 would stay again.
Wonderful stay! Rooms are very clean and spacious. There is AC and a fan in the room. We chose to eat dinner at the hotel because there were not many options in the nearby town. The food was amazing and it was a nice experience to have a local home cooked meal. Breakfast was also fantastic. Excellent value for money. We just stayed 1 night and did a sunrise safari in the morning. The hotel also arranged a taxi for us down to Mirissa after our safari tour. 10/10 and would definitely stay again.
There was a mixup with our reservation. Owner had organized us to stay in his brothers place, which was good. Even though our relocation he took care of us; organized safari with good driver/guide, gave us several lifts to the village center, as well as restaurant recommendations. He also got us comfotable car to get into Unawatuna. Even though I can't say anything about rooms or food in this hotel, I would book again just because of service was great and everything was taken care of regarding this mixup before we arrived.
We were welcomed by the owner as if we were family and our stay here had that exact same vibe throughout. We were cooked the most amazing traditional Sri Lankan dinner before retiring to our room for the night. The room had its own balcony, basic bathroom and two huge beds. There was air con or fans and tea & coffee making facilities. It was basic but just what we needed for a one night stay. We had an early start and the hired organised our half day Safari at Udawalawe national park which was the most incredible experience. After that we called in at the elephant orphanage before heading back to the safari house for a monster of a breakfast. We would highly recommend this hotel as a base for the Udawalawe national park. The hosts were incredible and nothing was too much trouble.
Mansala Safari House is just perfect. The rooms are beautiful, really good quality and spotlessly clean. Each room has a private veranda and it is so lovely to sit there on an evening listening the relaxing music, surrounded by palm trees and the sounds of nature. The owner Tiron and his family have got it exactly right, they are very welcoming whilst still giving you privacy. Tirons wife is a fantastic cook and they can arrange breakfast and dinner for you if you ask. Tiron is also able to arrange anything you need such as transport and of course safaris. Tiron uses 2 experienced safari guides, I had 3 private safaris with Nadeera and he was excellent, very quiet and respectful of the animals whilst delivering an outstanding experience for you. I could not believe the amount of elephants, monkeys, crocodiles and other endemic animals, as well as so many beautiful coloured birds. It is very reasonably priced too. Tiron sees you off at 0545 or 1400 supplying binoculars and water and is waiting for you on your return to make sure you have had an amazing experience. I cannot fault Mansala Safari House at all. I am travelling Sri Lanka alone and have felt very safe and happy here. It is the nicest place I have stayed in Sri Lanka and I do not want to leave! If you are staying anywhere in Sri Lanka THIS is the place.
