Evergreen Lodge at Vail
8/10 Good
"We really enjoyed our stay here. The pool was closed the first night because a moose got into it and they had to rebalance the chemicals, or at least that’s what the front desk told me! We swam the next day and it was great. It’s so nice to have a heated pool! We enjoyed the hot tub, too. The room was clean and the location was great. It was a quick walk to Lionshead and the bus stop was conveniently nearby. There is no AC but there was a high quality fan in the room. The one negative thing was that the lobby/ground floor smelled like gas the whole weekend. It was like they put out the gas fireplace but didn’t turn off the gas. It was overwhelming. Even so, we’d definitely visit again."

"The rooms were comfortable, well appointed, quiet, and large. The price of a room per night was well worth the price when you consider the quality of the hotel It was shoulder season, so the hotel was not busy. Trying to check in we had to wait for someone to return from somewhere to check in. No staff to be found in the check-in main lobby area. About 4:30 PM after returning from some outside activities, I went to the bar area in the lobby area to get a drink. No one was in sight. I wandered around looking for staff. I finally went to the front desk and had to rouse someone from a back office area. I asked if the bar was open. I was told the bartender is off on Wednesdays, so the bar is closed. Really? They offer drinks on the room service menu. Or,maybe not on Wednesdays. The Bellman was cheerful helpful, friendly, but aside from the Bellman the staff left a lot to be desired."

"Ali & Benjamin very helpful & nice. Our room’s air conditioning wasn’t working so we were moved right across the hall immediately. Thankfully lol. Ali always had a smile for us which we loved. We also enjoyed the hot tub outside with the fire pit. Very cool. Garrett at the front desk made fresh cookies & brought them to us while we were waiting in the Lobby before we left the hotel. So thoughtful. Sergio was our bartender & he was great! We enjoyed both nights at the bar and he made us delicious Hibiscus margaritas! The lobby was so large. What a view through their massive windows! Awesome. We loved the restaurant connected to the hotel. Had a fabulous brunch there before we checked out. The shuttle service was so nice to have as well to take us the the adorable Village & Chris was a friendly driver. The staff was special & that helps make a hotel. :). First time in Colorado. Our first stop before the Ranch. Loved it."

"The resort is at the river and in the town. They provide a warm welcome with a valet service for the car. The staff is very helpful. The breakfast buffet is extraordinary. You have always fresh water bottles in the room. For lunch and dinner, the bully ranch is more than an option. Ideal for some days of relaxation with a in- and outdoor pool, jacuzzis, gym and sauna."

Vail Run Resort

"Check in was easy with a gift bag containing coffee and candy. The pool and hot tub areas are a special bonus. There are two free buses that pick you up at the front door and take you to downtown Vail. The buses run every 20 minutes in most cases. The kitchen was well stocked and housekeeping has an extensive list of appliances to borrow from Crock-Pots to waffle irons. The lobby area has lemon slushies coffee machine and a variety of books, games and puzzles to borrow. They also provide Internet, computer and printer. There is an underground parking lot and City Market and Safeway are close by."
