Loved our stay in Alfena

We loved the villa the second we drove through the gates. Sebastian was so gracious with trying to communicate with us, hence Google translator helping. The entire compound, the swimming pool, bedrooms were great. We just wished we had more time to spend at the villa to enjoy it more. It's a small neighborhood but places you can walk to for groceries/restaurants. I would highly recommend this villa for your stay.

Old World Charm with Modern Amenities

We loved our week at Solar Piedade! Perfect place for an active family that enjoy swimming, tennis, basketball, pool etc. within the compound of a beautiful old villa. Everything we needed was available and in addition, the location was close to the airport and downtown Porto. Great communication with Helder and Sebastian. This is a very unique property and I would highly recommend it.

A great holiday with family and friends

Nice property and host. Very responsive and friendly. We are a group 11 of three families and everybody loved the holiday. Supermarkets and nice restaurant can be reached by walking. Plenty activities to keep kids busy. You do need to have your own transport for accessing Porto. Thanks for hosting us.

Great place to spend a week with friends or family

This property is a green oasis. The old stone buildings are beautifully decorated. Spacious rooms and bathrooms, with comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen. The pool is great and the movable roof is absolutely brilliant. The town does not have much to offer, but supermarkets are within walking distance, and the property is located perfectly for airport, train and drives in the area. Both the hosts and the couple living at the property are very welcoming and helpfull. If you are offered a tasting expirience - say yes! The homecooked food is amazing and totally worth a try :) Overall a very nice place to spend a week - even when weather is against you.

A wonderful relaxing stay at this exceptional property!

Sebastian was a superb host and although he lived on the same piece of land, was unobtrusive, and always available to help us out at any time.The pool was warm and clean, with a cover for the occasional chilly evening.This was a wonderful stay and I hope to be back. Great place for a large family

The house and garden, pool, tennis etc is perfect. Uber takes you to downtown Porto for 15€. Can safely recommend this house, the host is excellent.

Fantastic House in Portugal

This was better than we had ever imagined. From the pool, to the accommodations, to the bird house to the absolute beauty of the property, this was by far the best place we all had ever visited! We've enjoyed our stay, villa can easily accommodate 10 people (5 couples). Owner and his team are superb in all matters, always available for any questions at any time. Big pool, well equipped kitchen. Beautiful surrounding with touch of history everywhere. 10 minutes drive range from airport and center of Porto. Don't forget to let Manuela cook you a very delicious dinner :-)

It was a beautiful property and very well looked after, with everything we needed. Pool was spotless. Very easy to get to airport, beach and into Porto. Not the most scenic immediate area but in the villa you are totally secluded and there are two big supermarkets within walking distance so shopping easy. Owner delightful, as was his dog!

Fantastic Estate close to beautiful Porto

Just can’t said any negative things about this fantastic Estate. Historical buildings, well maintained both inside and outside. Clean and nicely decorated. Pool, tennis, table tennis are just some of the activities you can enjoy while staying. A very nice grill area is also avaible. But most important is the fantastic host. Helpfull and always there to facilitate. You should not mis the fantastic portuguese dinner the host offer to prepare for you while. staying.

Ideaal verblijf voor vrienden- of familieweek(end). Kamers zijn netjes schoon en contact met de eigenaar verloopt goed. Je hebt wel een auto nodig om je te verplaatsen of anders met de Uber is het ook prima te doen. Van de tennisbaan konden we helaas geen gebruik maken, deze was toe aan onderhoud.

Tolle Unterkunft erfüllt alle Wünsche

Wir, acht ältere Herren um die 60+-, haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Helder und seine Eltern haben uns bestens versorgt, nochmal Danke. In Gehweite sind mehrere Geschäfte erreichbar. Mit dem Auto ist man in 20 Min. In der City oder am Meer.

Awesome Villa

We had the best time in Porto, Portugal for my daughter’s wedding. The villa is just perfect for a big family like ours. The place is huge and and very private but not far from the city, just 20 minutes (w/ traffic) drive to old town Porto. Will definitely go back there!

What can I say, we had an amazing stay! Beautiful buildings, very big rooms, good beds, nice sport facilities, beautiful garden landscaping, amazing swimmingpool. Very nice and helpfull host!! Supermarket at 3 minute walk. 20 min taxi ride to downtown Porto. Would recommend to everyone!!

Didn’t want to leave!!!!

What an amazing property. 8 of us arrived (13-54) for a week and just didn’t want to leave. Everything about this place was perfect and we’re all so relaxed after our time there. The pool table, the tennis court, basket ball, swimming pool. There was plenty for everyone to do. We used Uber a couple of times to go into Porto but literally couldn’t wait to get back to the villa. The local town has good amenities and we did go off and explore and find some lovely walks among vineyards and some old cobbled streets. Cannot wait to go back

Estupendas vacaciones en familia !

La estancia ha sido excepcional. Muy buenas prestaciones de la casa : tennis, baloncesto, piscina, billar... las habitaciones eran muy grandes. Muchas gracias a Sebastián y a su mujer por estar pendiente de todo. Estábamos a unos 20mn de Oporto y de sus playas.Y a unos 35mn de Guimarães, ciudad patrimonio de la humanidad. Para repetir.

Amazing gem near Porto

Some of the thinsg we didnt quite realize when we booked: - The house is way bigger and a lot nicer then presented on the pictures. - The house is extremely clean and cosy - The house is basically an old portugese farm whereof two of the main buildings are rented out and the other main building is where the owners live, they are on the other side of the inner square of the house, you wont notice they are around. - The owners speak french and portugese but no english, however they are the nicest couple. They even made us a warm cake after a day or two being there! - The location is about 20-30 minutes from the center of Porto but Braga and Guimaraes are both beautiful cities too and both within appr. 30 - 45 distance too. - You will need a car / van/etc. to get around, sure public transport is an option, but no, not really. - Overall, amazing house, 12 people (assuming they can share double beds (e.g. couples or children) can easily stay there, we were with 4 teenage kids, which meant they all had there own room and almost all there own bathroom. - HIGHLY recommended for larger families!! P.S. Helder is a familymember too and is the one who does speak english and will be your main contact for the house.
