Great location with access issues - Personally I would stay again
COMMUNICATION, CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT: The communication was excellent and the host answered the phone always immediately. There was good instructions on locating the property with the property manager waiting for us at 10PM to hand over the keys and walk-though the property
LOCATION and ACCESS: The location is prime as it is just off the busy Lanka road and very close to the main gates of Banaras Hindu University. An excellent restaurant, Ratna Sagar, is just 5 minutes walk from the property. Two things make me decrease the stars in my evaluation. There is a pile of rubbish on the street right in front of the gate to the property. The ground floor is not occupied and both the flats seem to be permanently locked, People who are not fit to climb steep stairs should not consider this property as it is on the second floor (third floor if you are from USA). Despite the fact this property is tucked away, we did not feel unsafe even though we retuned to the property after 11pm every day we stayed. The main street is hopping busy until 11pm daily.
FURNISHING: The air conditioners in the bedrooms worked which is important with temperatures in the day exceeding 40 degrees centigrade. The bathrooms are well maintained. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and a small fridge and a wall mounted water filter and a couple of nice plastic bottles if you forgot to bring your own. There were some snacks and juice pack provided. Overall, I would give 3.5 STARS
