After much contemplation, I have decided that this review is best organized by the good, the bad and the ugly.
To start off with the good— this place has a GREAT location. It’s literally right behind St. Mark’s square, which made it super easy to pop back to the room if we needed something. The location itself is a 5/5, and the whole reason my husband and I booked this place.
Now, onto the bad. The room was outdated, and had cracks in the walls. The towel warmer in the bathroom was stuck on the highest setting, which made the whole room uncomfortably warm. The door handle came off in my husband’s hand, and the room itself was located away from the main building in a dark hallway that felt like something out of The Shining. All of this on its own, however, would never have been enough for us to write a negative review. We are easy going travelers, and just needed a convenient place to crash, so we laughed it off and went about our visit to Venice.
Now, onto the ugly. Unfortunately, the hotel has a bedbug infestation. I am not sure HOW we missed this, as previous reviews so mention this issue. We got bit up, and are currently back home in the states lamenting what to do with our laundry (it is currently outside on the back porch in our bags, untouched).
All that to say, this hotel has the potential to be a great spot with some updating… and a SERIOUS fumigation.
