All good but room is dark

Room is Spacious and clean, breakfast is in Hotel Bauer terrace with a faunistic view. The only complain is the living room is very dark. I wish they could have put more light.

Check in was confusing as it was in a different building. Someone happened along to guide us, but it was disconcerting. Also, entrance was in a lonely alley. Elevator worked sometimes and only went to third floor. Our room was on the fourth, which was fine except when we were toting luggage. We skipped breakfast. 45 euros per day per person was out of my price range.

Great location in Venice

Problem finding our room in the beginning but they compensated with complementary Prosecco. Bauer staff were excellent arranging luggage pickup, water taxi, etc.

Old school cool.

You check into this big beautiful hotel but our room was in a hotel that was behind the associated check in amazing hotel. They sent us out and around the corner through a dark alley to what was probably the original hotel. No view but the room was comfortable and cozy. Just way more Gothic/ Old school Italian. Very cool if you your into that . Location was amazing. I recommend keeping an Air tag type of tracker in your room/ luggage so you can find your way home as Venice is a maze. And standard navigation did not work well.

Das Nebenhaus zum Hotel Bauer

Die Residenza Grunwald gehört zum 5-Sterne Luxushotel Bauer. Es hat weder einen eigenen Empfang noch bietet es eigenes Frühstück an. Dieses befindet sich alles im Hotel Bauer. Der Checkin erfolgt daher auch im Hotel Bauer. Von hieraus sind es nur wenige Meter zur Residenza in einer Seitenstraße. Die Residenza betritt man mit der an der Rezeption vom Bauer erhalten Schlüsselkarte. Schon der Eingangsbereich verbreitet den Charme eines alten Pallazo in Venedig. Die Einrichtung ist prunkvoll - wenn auch schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Trotzdem riecht es nicht muffig oder unangenehm. Über den Aufzug, der zwar klein aber dafür schnell und immer verfügbar ist, erreicht man die Zimmer. Unser Zimmer entsprach dem Bild vom Eingangsbereich. Das Zimmer war ausreichend groß mit großen luxeriösem Bad. Zusatzlich gab es im Zimmer noch eine Treppe zu einem Maisonette Wohnbereich mit Sofa und weiterm Fernseher. Auch wenn wir den Bereich nicht genutzt haben, war es doch gut zu wissen, dass es noch einen solchen Bereich gab. Das Zimmer war ruhig und die Lage fantastisch. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und wurde jeden Tag gereinigt. Dass es in der Residenza selbst so gut wie keinen Service gab, war nicht störend. Wer will kann mit Zuzahlung alle (allerdings sehr teueren) Angenehmlichkeiten des Hotel Bauers nutzen (z.B. Frühstück für 45 € p.P) oder von hier aus sich in Venedig etwas nach seinem Geschmack und Geldbeutel suchen.

Great stay

unusually large room and bathroom, very clean and comfortable. Sort of a strange setup, there is no onsite staff, you check in at the Bauer around the corner. Wasn’t any problem with it, other than we found the hotel doors were frequently wide open. Great location, too, overall great stay.

Nice Antique Room.

The building is an old one (which we liked) in good condition. You check in at the better hotel building next door. The receptionist asked I we’d like her to walk us over to show us how to get in. You should do this as building entry is not obvious. AC was not great. No view. On the good side - rooms were very large, clean, mattress comfortable, shower good pressure, and GREAT LOCATION. PSA - Receptionist said we could walk to hotel - about 30 minutes. NOT TRUE. About an hour and we had to lug heavy bags up and over about a dozen bridges (all with steps - no ramps). We were dripping sweaty and it was about 70 degrees. It was rough for us but we’re not marathon runners either. (55 years old). You can take a water bus from railway station to St Marks Square for 9 Euros/each. Then walk about 10 minutes. Or you can splurge on a water taxi for 70 Euros for your group door-to-door. I would definitely stay here again.

We were very pleased with our room. We found check in to be easy and were pleased to be able to check in early after an all night flight. Our room was very clesn and the location was perfect. Highly Recommend!
