The Ventnor Penthouse
Positives: Lovely place. We went as a family of five. It was deceptively spacious, the photos did not do the kitchen & living space justice, as we had an expectation that it would be a very small flat. It was very large and all the bedrooms had so much space. It goes without saying that the view was stunning, and the property had everything you needed. I was so happy to have access to the hoover to be able to clean up after my kids and put a wash load on before coming home.. much to my husband’s disapproval!! it was immaculately decorated and felt like a real home, rather than an empty soulless property. whilst Ventnor itself is a little rundown and outdated, where this property is located, you have some nice coffee shops & restaurants. We had dinner at all 4 of the restaurants, walking distance from home and were very pleased. Negatives: the main bedroom has a feather duvet, and it was so hot to sleep under. I would recommend bringing a thin double duvet if you come in the summer. I’m sure it’s lovely and cozy in the winter! The bunkbed mattresses were awful. It was like laying on a bed of springs, to the point where when I stripped the bed, the sheet was caught on one of the springs which was sticking out of the mattress! Would recommend replacing these. Very uncomfortable for anyone over the age of 3.Not a host issue but an app issue, VRBO has different check-in times. Host sent us the wrong key code,the old cleaner helped us access the key.
