Our hosts were very kind, and put generous effort into providing delicious breakfasts, giving suggestions about local attractions, and allowing us as much or as little cat time as we wanted. The room we were in was very cozy, with a comfortable bed, and thoughtful touches such as a water kettle for tea or coffee, a small fridge, and a TV setup we didn’t take advantage of. The private bathroom down the hall was clean and had everything we needed. I would……

“This place should be ashamed to operate like this. Filthy room, broken and run down. They had a cheap plastic lawn chair as the only chair in the room, dog kibble left on the shelves, shower held together with duct tape, heating wasn't working so it was too cold to take a shower anyway. Honestly probably the worst motel I've ever stayed in, just dirty. 1 star because I think/hope the sheets were clean. ”

“I arrived after dark and the hotel and the village were like a magical New England winter scene with sparkling lights everywhere. The proximity of the hotel to a typical New England church and numerous white painted wooden framed structures was a scene from our historical heritage. The hotel was reopened less than a year ago after extensive renovations. The outcome is a GEM. Decorations deserve an A+.”
