Beach Vacation

The house was a duplex which i was unaware of it appered to be an individual house although it wasnt bad. Very quiet and friendly neighborhood. The location was perfect was with in walking distance to the beach. We enjoyed our stay would definitely go back.

Perfect for us

Family vacation

Overall the condo was just what we needed for our vacation. Location was perfect. Only thing I wish was listed more was some of the simple amenities that come with a vacation rental. The property management was always prompt to answer any questions I had.

L’emplacement était parfait, très près de la plage. Le quartier était tranquille et sécuritaire. La piscine du complexe de condo était propre. La piscine du complexe de condo était propre. Le gestionnaire de l’établissement a répondu à tous nos messages rapidement. Il a était sympathique et très réceptif aux commentaires. Le condo a besoin d’être repeint et rénové un peu. Les propriétaires sont passés durant notre séjour. Ils ont remplacé les choses qui étaient brisées afin de rendre notre séjour plus confortable. Ils nous ont dit qu’ils allaient entreprendre des travaux prochainement.

Relaxing beach get away

We had a great stay at Turtle Reed. The grounds were well kept. The property was quiet and tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the board walk area but still close enough to enjoy those busier places when we wanted to. The pool was clean and well kept. The beach just a few minutes walk was never crowded. We had a very relaxing stay and enjoyed every minute. Our rental was clean, easy to check in and out and comfortable. It was everything we needed it to be. The internet never worked for us and when i sent a message to report it i received a prompt response. Sometimes i travel with work or school to do but that was not the case this time so lack of internet access did not distract from our stay. They are working on upgrades per the communication I received so hopefully just a short term issue. Definitely not any reason for me to reduce the rating on this great little beach property. We look forward to another stay innthe future.

Great Place but maintenance issues marred the stay.

Pros: Cute, great location. Floors, beds, bathrooms, countertops, clean. Cons: Basic Maintenance issues. Inadequate hot water. Shower hot water water ran out before could rinse out shampoo. Called management and they sent a plumber out right away. Bathtub/shower hardware from the 70s and parts had to be ordered. Plumber assured me an issue in only one of the two bathrooms, to use the other one and I'd likelybe fine.Next morning second shower conked out before could rinse my head. Washed my hair in the sink for the duration of my stay. After a two days of this, management decided I could leave if I wanted to and be reimbursed for days not used. Ultimately decided not to take up precious vacation time moving. Also, dirty coffee pot with hot plate of coffee maker cracked and totally rusted. Never seen anything like it. A real fire hazard. Non stick pots had holes in the non stick. Management super responsive on this, and reimbursed me 100 which I did not ask for and replaced the pots. Thank you. Bedroom closet had cleaning supplies covering the floor. Management offered to send someone over to clean, but after the plumber did not want more maintenance during my vacation.I appreciated fast management response, but 30 minutes of basic inspection beforehand would have uncovered all these before I got there. It wasn't just one thing. These issues would not be acceptable in a hotel at the same price point, why should they be in a VBRO? Spent hard earned money.

annual family vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Two of my kids and their families have been staying at these apartments for 4 years. It is ideal as it is close to us and has a pool and the beach so near. They have always been so excited to meet us with their cousins and hang out there. Unfortunately, this year they had to leave after 2 days because of a Covid infection. The property management was incredibly responsive when I called them with some issues (got locked out once because of our own incompetence with keyless entry) They came by in a matter of minutes.

Benefits outweigh the negatives

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love the location of the resort and the layout of these condos are perfect for our family. The pool is great and convenient. I only wish the owners of some of these condos took more pride in what they have! The photos are misleading... I thought we were getting a pretty, updated unit. In desperate need of some paint and some new grout and caulk in the bathrooms. Beds were worn out and not very comfortable and the living room furniture was horrible. Tried to watch a movie as a family of four on a rainy evening and there was no way for anyone to get comfortable . Also this particular unit does not have the clothes lines outside and there was not a single hook in the place to hang wet clothes . HOWEVER, none of this ruined our stay and the benefits far outweigh these negatives, which may be why the owners don’t care to not put any money in this unit haha. Anchor was great... the whole process was easy and convenient . Would def stay at Mai Kai again but will look for a better unit next time... but would stay at this one if I had to!

Summer Beach Trip 2021

I love all the accommodations this rental has. Just one thing I would recommend is the AC unit be updated. it stayed 78 degrees in the unit when set on 72 or 73. I purchased a fan for the master bedroom and left it there for others. And the grill that was dirty and rusted. But I will still recommend this unit.

In Need of Update

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location was decent but the furniture inside really could use an update. It also wouldn't hurt to add blinds to the windows because every room is lit up as soon as the sun comes up. Upon arrival, you could write your name in the dust on the end tables, the dishwasher had dishes in it, and the grill was filthy. When questioning the cleaning company, I was told that the property mgmt. co. would need to request a "deep" clean for these things to be taken care of - REALLY?

A Great Week in Aug. at the Mai Kai

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location was perfect (close to beach and our son and family who live nearby). We shared the unit with our daughter and 3 grandkids); the pool was a great bonus! We did a lot together but also let everyone "do their own thing" (fishing trip, waterpark, etc). Folks at Anchor were polite and responsive, especially the maintenance man who promptly handled a couple of minor issues. Would definitely recommend the Mai Kai to friends or others!

Great place when you have a lot of family vacationing together, H

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The place is conducive for what we needed. HOWEVER, the dishwasher was full of mold, so we couldn't use it.... a repair guy was coming the Saturday we left. ALSO, the vacuum did not work....we contacted Anchor and their response was "sorry, we contacted the owner and she does not want to get a new one"...I thought maybe Anchor would have one we could borrow... nope, never got one. We did NOT have a table to sit at out front...told us that wasn't coming until November... Thank GOODNESS my brother in law brought 2 tables!
