“The host was excellent. Breakfast was handy. Location was perfect (was able to see an early morning eruption- 5 minutes to the park!) Room was large and comfortable. Lots of resources and books on site. Fridge for lunch/food and kitchen to cook if needed (reasonably stocked). Volcano is colder than Hilo - bring a jacket/sweater. Close to all the little local (delicious) restaurants. Volcano Forest Inn has seen better days. Place really need a deep clean and fresh paint in a few places. Hard to……

“Everything excellent”

“Right next to the volcano park, great locations ”

“The breakfast was great and people are so nice there.”

“The room is beautiful, the kitchen is big, the couch is comfortable, the bed was a little too firm for my old body but otherwise was great. The host was super nice, and answered promptly to all my questions. NOTE: if you need supplies get them from Hilo or get them before 5pm 'cause everything is closed early!!!”

“The property has a beautiful view and is minutes from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park”

“The house was very nice! Very peaceful place. The host was so helpful and accommodating. We ended up staying there during a hurricane. There was a back up power system so we never went without power. We had everything we needed. The property caretaker called to check on us and offered help if needed. Very nice people. I would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend it.”

“Beautiful property! The sounds of the forest at night were amazing. Very close to the park.”

“The location was great! Minutes from Volcanoes National Park! Also it was close to some restaurants and gas! The place was spacious and had comfortable bedding. There was a heater for cooler nights! The coffee pod machine and fridge are such nice features!!!”

“Loved this location! We had a great stay. The cottage is not air conditioned, but it's very shaded and with the fans provided it didn't matter. The WiFi is very spotty, but it's a rural location, so that wasn't shocking. We were close enough to Volcanoes National Park that we got there before anyone else was even at the summit, which was incredible. There were a few restaurants within driving distance, but we appreciated the host's caution that most places close early and it's best to get……

“We enjoyed our visit! I was pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen had appliances that were not mentioned, such as a stand mixer, rice cooker, and immersion blender! If you want to serve a cake, they have everything you need! The site was beautiful, and the communal areas were both spacious and beautiful. Their communication was prompt and informative. Communication with the owner let us know ahead of time that the washer should only be used until 9pm, but they did not complain when part of……

“Great location.”
