Old semi-detached house. In the centre of Volterra, excellent location: right in the centre but still quiet, in a cul-de-sac. Public parking 300 m on the road. Shop 100 m, supermarket 1 km, restaurant 100 m, pedestrian zone 50 m, bus stop 100 m, thermal baths 20 km. The apartment is located in a zone with limited traffic.
"La Fonte", 3-room apartment 40 m2, on the ground floor. Rustic furnishings: small entrance hall. Living room, without window. 1 double bedroom with 1 double bed. Kitchenette (4 hot plates, mini-oven, electric coffee machine). Shower/bidet/WC. Gas heating.

Lovely stay in a historic home!
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here! This is a very old building overlooking one of the city walls--not fancy, but pleasant. It was really interesting to sleep under a vaulted brick ceiling. The apartment was clean with a very comfortable bed. There are some things to consider: being an older home, there are steps down into the house, a step in the bathroom, and steps down into the kitchen and again into the living room--just something to be aware of if you are older. Also, it's a somewhat steep incline leading down to the house--and you may need to use Google maps to find it. The shower, being a later improvement, is small and the shower curtain is an adventure. BUT . . . the view when you come out the front door in the morning is MAGNIFICENT! The location is tremendous, right in the heart of old Volterra. There are several really nice restaurants close by, on the Piazza XX Settembre. We loved staying here; after spending the day wandering the cobblestone streets of Volterra and enjoying a nice evening meal and wandering some more, we were very comfortable back in the apartment.
