Il Poggiarellone stands in a hilly position, in the midst of the unique scenery of the hills surrounding Volterra, on the ancient oil and wine route that continues on to San Gimignano; once an old Pisan watchtower, it enjoys, precisely for this characteristic, a unique 360° view. The recent renovation has been carefully and accurately carried out by the owners, seeking to respect the typical characteristics of its history, with particular attention to the use of the typical materials of the area so as not to upset the singularity of the house and to render it comfortable for guests. The chestnut-wood ceilings with terracotta tiles, the travertine floors, the beautiful half-vaulted terracotta ceilings of the living area together with the large and elegant rooms embellished with design elements, the cosy and spacious bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, the brightly-lit and well-equipped professional kitchen, the large living area and beautiful garden with the panoramic, heated swimming pool, make this property the perfect destination for family gatherings or for large groups of friends looking for a relaxing holiday in a tranquil area, close to Volterra. The exterior of the villa is a triumph of colourful flowers with areas dedicated to aromatic herbs, all surrounded by multicoloured hedges and, absolutely not to be missed in June, the spectacle of expanses of golden wheat studded with red poppies. A tableau that can be admired from the panoramic terrace of this property, while tasting a good Tuscan red wine, and from where you can admire unique and unforgettable sunsets. In addition, its position, just a few kilometres from provincial roads, allows you to quickly reach the main art cities of Tuscany, like Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa and the characteristic little villages of the Volterra district and the Sienese Chianti as well as the Tyrrhenian coast with Cecina and Vada renowned for their white beaches.

Interior:
The property has four floors. The main entrance is located on the ground floor where you find an open-space composed of a large living area, dining area, TV corner, professional kitchen and play area as well as a bathroom with shower, used also by the pool area. This floor has large windows that open out to the external areas as well as to the swimming pool area. The internal a staircase leads down to an the first floor where are two suites with bathrooms and independent access and on the back of the villa an other 2 suites with bathrooms and indipendent access. From the covered terrace, stairs go up to the second floor with four suites with bathrooms. Continuing up the stairs to the third floor, in the heart of the tower, you come to a large double bedroom with bathroom and with an unforgettable view.
Park:
Your memorable holiday will be framed by the unique panorama and the park around Il Poggiarellone, enhanced by large areas of lawn and bordered by hedges to guard your privacy, all surrounded by vast expanses of wheat fields and olive groves. In the large garden you will be greeted by an explosion of colourful flowers and a corner planted with herbs that can be used to create the typical dishes of Tuscan cuisine. You can relax in one of the many shady areas in the park or in one of the comfortable sofas and armchairs set up under the shade of the portico or the panoramic terrace.Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.
Swimming Pool:
The rectangular swimming pool with its panoramic view, just 10 m from the villa and reached from the living area or from the lawn in front of the property, has a large solarium paved in larchwood and equipped with sunbeds and large shady umbrellas. Lined in sand-coloured PVC, with Roman steps for entry to the water, it measures 6x15 m with a variable depth 1.40x2.20 m and can be heated on request from 15 October to 30 April. There is internal lighting and external lighting around the perimeter.. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday of October.
